The 2013–14 CAA men's basketball season marked the 29th season of Colonial Athletic Association basketball, taking place between November 2013 and March 2014. Practices commenced in October 2013, and the season ended with the 2014 Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball tournament. NCAA Division I
NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest level of College athletics, intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. D-I schools include the major collegiate athletic powers, with large budgets, more elaborate facilities and more athletic scholarships than Divisions II and III as well as many smaller schools committed to the highest level of intercollegiate competition. This level was previously called the University Division of the NCAA, in contrast to the lower-level College Division; these terms were replaced with Roman numerals, numeric divisions in 1973. 2013–14 James Madison Dukes Men's Basketball Team
The 2013–14 James Madison Dukes men's basketball team represented James Madison University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Dukes, led by sixth year head coach Matt Brady, played their home games at the James Madison University Convocation Center and were members of the Colonial Athletic Association. Buzz Peterson
Robert Bower "Buzz" Peterson Jr. (born May 17, 1963) is an American basketball executive who is the assistant general manager for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has also coached college basketball, most recently as the head coach of the UNC Wilmington Seahawks men's basketball team. He was fired by UNC Wilmington at the conclusion of the 2014 season. Peterson was the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers basketball team for four years before being fired in 2005. He previously coached a second stint at Appalachian State—he coached the 2009–10 Mountaineers, as well as the 1996 to 2000 squads. Patrick Joseph Skerry (born January 21, 1970) is the head coach of the Towson University Tigers men's basketball team. Biography Playing career Skerry played collegiate basketball at Tufts University where he set the school record for career assists (634) and single-season assists (198). Coaching career After graduation, Skerry joined his alma mater's coaching staff, where he spent three seasons before moving on to Stonehill College for the 1995–96 season. Matt Brady (born October 1, 1965) is an American college basketball coach who is currently an assistant coach for the Maryland men's basketball team. He is a former head coach at James Madison and Marist. Career Early career After playing basketball for Siena, Brady worked as assistant at Rhode Island, Wagner, and Saint Joseph's. Marist Brady was hired as head coach by Marist in 2004 and coached the Foxes for four years, finishing with a 73–50 record. He took the Red Foxes to a MAAC regular-season championship in 2007. James "Bruiser" Flint (born July 23, 1965) is an American men's college basketball coach, currently an assistant coach at Kentucky. He was most recently the head coach at Drexel University in west Philadelphia, where he was born and raised. Collegiate playing career Flint is a 1987 graduate of Saint Joseph's University. Frederick Douglas Wojcik (pronounced WO-jick) (born April 12, 1964) is an American college basketball coach, former player, and former Naval officer. Currently, he is an assistant coach for Tom Izzo at Michigan State University. Jean Frantz Massenat Jr. (born January 17, 1992) is an American-Haitian professional basketball coach and former player who is an assistant coach for the Drexel Dragons.
