2009–10 CWHL Season
The 2009–10 CWHL season was the third season in the history of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. the Montreal Stars repeated as regular season champions for the third straight year. Sabrina Harbec of the Stars won the Angela James Bowl as the top scorer and was voted the league's most valuable player, the CWHL Top Forward and a CWHL First Team All-Star. Teammate Annie Guay was voted CWHL Top Defender while Laura Hosier was voted CWHL Top Goaltender. Danielle Blanchard was voted CWHL Outstanding Rookie. Exhibition games The CWHL participated in a number of benefit games against NHL Alumni. Games were played on March 4 (Galt Street Arena, Cambridge), March 5 (Mountain Arena, Hamilton), March 6 (Hershey Centre, Mississauga) and March 7 (Niagara Falls Memorial Arena). Canadian Women's Hockey League
The Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL; french: Ligue canadienne de hockey féminin ‒ LCHF) was a women's ice hockey league. Established in 2007 as a Canadian women's senior league in the Greater Toronto Area, Montreal, and Ottawa, the league eventually expanded into Alberta, as well as teams in China and the United States throughout its tenure. The league discontinued operations May 1, 2019, after 12 seasons of operations. For most of its existence, it was the highest level women's hockey league in North America while registered as an amateur association. The National Women's Hockey League (now Premier Hockey Federation) was launched as a rival organization, while also paying its players, but with both leagues competing for the same talent. Noémie Marin
Noémie Marin (born April 5, 1984 in Acton Vale, Quebec) is a former two-sport athlete that played ice hockey and softball. She was a four-time Clarkson Cup winner and she retired as the CWHL's all-time leading goalscorer. Softball In softball, Marin was the only player from Quebec to qualify for the 2008 Olympic softball roster. She played in three Canadian softball championships with the Québec Rebelles. In 2001 and 2002, she won the Canadian championships MVP award. Marin was part of the silver medal-winning squad at the 2007 Pan-American games in Rio de Janeiro. Bobbi Jo Slusar
Bobbi-Jo Slusar (born June 6, 1985) is a Canadian ice hockey player. Born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Slusar was a member of the Canada women's national ice hockey team from 2006 to 2008. Currently, she played for the Brampton Thunder in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) and competed in the 2010 Clarkson Cup. During the 2010–11 season, she competed for the Strathmore Rockies of the WWHL. She was drafted 9th overall by the Team Alberta CWHL in the 2011 CWHL Draft. Sami Jo Small (born March 25, 1976) is a Canadian former ice hockey goaltender. As a member of the Canadian national team, she was a three-time Olympic medallist and four-time World Championship medallist. One of the founders of the now defunct Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), she served in the role of vice-chair during the league's inaugural season and went on to play ten seasons in the league. Leslie Oles (born 18 November 1990 in Beaconsfield, Quebec) is a Canadian ice hockey player. She started played a professional hockey when she was 17, helping the player-run Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) start up. She was elected to the all-star team and in her second season helped the Montreal Stars win the Clarkson Cup. Michelle Bonello
Michelle Bonello (born March 10, 1985) is a women's ice hockey player who has also competed for the Canada women's national inline hockey team, having participated at seven FIRS Inline Hockey World Championships With regards to Bonello's women's ice hockey career, she has competed at the university level with the Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey program in the NCAA. Jennifer Anne "Jenny" Kirk (born August 15, 1984) is an American former competitive figure skater. She is the 2000 World Junior champion and the 2002 Four Continents champion. Early life Jennifer Kirk was born in Newton, Massachusetts. Prior to skating, she was a gymnast until the age of nine. She also studied ballet and once performed with the Boston Ballet.
