The 2009 Hall of Fame Tennis Championships (also known as the ''Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships'' for sponsorship reasons) is a tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts. It was the 34th edition of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, and is part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2009 ATP Tour. It took place at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, United States, from July 6 through July 12, 2009. The singles field is led by Mardy Fish, Fabrice Santoro. The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Tour Masters 1000, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2020 ATP Tour, 2020, the series includes 39 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. International Tennis Hall Of Fame
The International Tennis Hall of Fame is located in Newport, Rhode Island, United States. It honors both players and other contributors to the sport of tennis. The complex, the former Newport Casino, includes a museum, grass tennis courts, an indoor tennis facility, a court tennis facility, and a theatre. Rogier Wassen
Rogier Wassen (born 9 August 1976) is a Dutch tennis player who competed regularly on the ATP Tour primarily as a doubles player. Wassen reached his highest doubles ranking on the ATP Tour on 10 September 2007 when he became World No. 24. The right-hander has won three ATP doubles titles. The Heineken Open in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2006 and 2007 teaming up with Andrei Pavel and Jeff Coetzee respectively. Michael Kohlmann
Michael Kohlmann (born 11 January 1974) is a retired professional tennis player from Germany. Primarily a doubles specialist, he has won five ATP Tour doubles titles in his career. In March 2007, he reached his career-high doubles ranking of World No. 27. A grass court is one of the four different types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Grass courts are made of grasses in different compositions depending on the tournament. Hall Of Fame Tennis Championships
The Infosys Hall of Fame Open is an international tennis tournament that has been held every year in July since 1976 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island, the original location of the U.S. National Championships. The event, which was part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit from 1976 to 1989, typically features a 28 or 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles tournament. Each year that the tournament has been held there is an induction ceremony for the Hall of Fame. The tournament is held on outdoor grass courts, and is the last grass court tournament of the season on the ATP tour and the only grass court tournament played outside Europe, as well as the only one played after Wimbledon.
