2007–08 ACB Season
The 2007–08 ACB season was the 25th season of the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto. The 612-game regular season (34 games for each of the 18 teams) began on Saturday, October 6, 2007, and ended on Friday, May 9, 2008. The ACB playoffs started on Thursday, May 15, 2008 and ran until Tuesday, June 3, 2008. TAU Cerámica won the Final series by 3-0 against AXA FC Barcelona and obtained their second ACB championship. Some changes were introduced in this ACB season: * First place in the Regular Season granted direct access to the following Euroleague season * Playoffs' Quarterfinal and Semifinal series were 3-match rounds instead of 5-match rounds Team standings Summary * Will participate in the Euroleague 2008-09: ** TAU Vitoria, Unicaja Málaga, Real Madrid, F.C. Asociación De Clubs De Baloncesto
The Asociación de Clubes Españoles de Baloncesto (Spanish Basketball Clubs Association), more commonly known as the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), is a national sports association responsible for administering the main professional basketball league in Spain - the Liga Endesa. The organisation was founded in 1982. Competition The 18 member clubs of the ACB are grouped into the Liga Endesa. In any given season a club plays each of the others in the same division twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents. This makes for a total of 34 games played each season in Liga Endesa. Clubs gain one point for a win, no points for a defeat. If points are equal, the head-to-head records determine the winner. If still equal, the point difference and then points scored become the deciding factors. Basket Zaragoza 2002 S.A.D., more commonly referred to as Basket Zaragoza and as Casademont Zaragoza for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Zaragoza, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB. Their home arena is the Pabellón Príncipe Felipe. History Basket Zaragoza was founded in 2002 with the aim of giving the city of Zaragoza back to the Spanish basketball elite league, after old CB Zaragoza left the Liga ACB on 1996. Liga Española De Baloncesto
The Liga Española de Baloncesto, also known as LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The Liga Española de Baloncesto is divided into two categories (the other one is the LEB Plata). The LEB league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. It was renamed LEB Oro in 2007. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the LEB Oro are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The teams that finish the season in 2nd to 9th place enter a playoff tournament, with the winner also gaining promotion to the Liga ACB. The three lowest-finishing teams in the LEB Oro are relegated to LEB Plata. Club Baloncesto León was a basketball team, based in León, Spain.
