The 2007 AIG Japan Open Tennis Championships was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 34th edition of the event known that year as the AIG Japan Open Tennis Championships, and was part of the International Series Gold of the 2007 ATP Tour, and of the Tier III Series of the 2007 WTA Tour. Both the men's and the women's events took place at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan, from October 1 through October 7, 2007. The men's draw included ATP No. 8, US Open semifinalist, Auckland and Båstad champion David Ferrer, Wimbledon quarterfinalist, Halle winner Tomáš Berdych, and Wimbledon semifinalist, Estoril runner-up and Mumbai titlist Richard Gasquet. Also lined up were Las Vegas champion Lleyton Hewitt, Marseille and Halle semifinalist Jarkko Nieminen, Dmitry Tursunov, Ivo Karlović and Fernando Verdasco. Ariake Coliseum
is an indoor sporting arena in located in Ariake, Kōtō, Tokyo, Japan. It has a capacity of 10,000 and is one of the few professional tennis venues which has a retractable roof. Events The arena is used as the center court for the Japan Open and the Pan Pacific Open, held in Ariake Tennis Forest Park. This venue will also host Road FC 24, instead of Ryogoku Kokugikan. Ivo Karlović (; born 28 February 1979) is a former Croatian professional tennis player. Dmitry Igorevich Tursunov (; born 12 December 1982) is a retired Russian tennis player and current tennis coach. At age 12 he moved to the United States to train and further his prospects of becoming a professional player. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 20, achieved in October 2006. Jarkko Kalervo Nieminen (born 23 July 1981) is a Finnish former professional tennis player. His highest ranking of world No. 13, achieved in July 2006, is a Finnish record. The 2007 Tennis Channel Open was a tennis event on the 2007 ATP Tour. Lleyton Hewitt, who was the 2006 runner-up, was the singles champion, while Bob and Mike Bryan were the doubles champions. The event was held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Darling Tennis Center. It was the twentieth Tennis Channel Open, but just the second to be held in Las Vegas.
