Bosnia And Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina ( sh, / , ), abbreviated BiH () or B&H, sometimes called BosniaāHerzegovina and often known informally as Bosnia, is a country at the crossroads of south and southeast Europe, located in the Balkans. Sulejman TihiÄ
Sulejman TihiÄ (26 November 1951 ā 25 September 2014) was a Bosnian politician who served as the 4th Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2006. He was a member and later president of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA). From 2007 until his death in 2014, TihiÄ served as member of the national House of Peoples. Born in Bosanski Å amac, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo in 1975. Following his graduation, TihiÄ worked as a judge, prosecutor and a lawyer. During the Bosnian War of 1992ā95, he was captured by Serb soldiers and was tortured in concentration camps in both Bosnia and Serbia. Following the war, TihiÄ entered into politics. Already being a founding member of the SDA, he was named its president in 2001. Dragan ÄoviÄ (; born 20 August 1956) is a Bosnian Croat politician who served as the 4th Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2005 and from 2014 to 2018. He is the current president of the Croatian Democratic Union and is a member of the national House of Peoples. Born in Mostar, ÄoviÄ graduated from the Faculty of Engineering at University Džemal BijediÄ in his hometown in 1979. He also attended studies at the University of Sarajevo and holds a PhD University of Mostar, obtaining it in 1996. Prior to the Bosnian War, ÄoviÄ worked as a manager at Yugoslav aircraft manufacturer SOKO. He entered into politics by joining the Croatian Democratic Union in 1994, becoming its president in 2005. Mirko Å aroviÄ ( sr-cyrl, ŠŠøŃŠŗŠ¾ ŠØŠ°ŃŠ¾Š²ŠøŃ; born 16 September 1956) is a Bosnian Serb politician who served as the 3rd Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2003. From 2000 to 2002, he also served as the 4th president of Republika Srpska and was Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations on two occasions as well. Å aroviÄ graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Sarajevo in 1979. Following the Bosnian War in the 1990s, he was elected to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska. In 2000, he became president of Republika Srpska, serving until 2002. At the 2002 general election, Å aroviÄ was elected as Serb member of the Bosnian Presidency, serving in office only until 2003, when he resigned amid allegations of his involvement in organising illegal military trading with Iraq. Borislav Paravac ( sr-Cyrl, ŠŠ¾ŃŠøŃŠ»Š°Š² ŠŠ°ŃŠ°Š²Š°Ń; born 18 February 1943) is a Bosnian Serb politician who served as the 4th Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2003 to 2006. Previously, he was a member of both the national House of Peoples and House of Representatives. Paravac is a member of the Serb Democratic Party. Early life and education Paravac was born on 18 February 1943 in Kostajnica near Doboj in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb in 1966. Career From 13 October 1998 until 14 October 2000, Paravac was the member of the national House of Peoples. Adnan TerziÄ (born 5 April 1960) is a Bosnian politician who served as Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2002 to 2007. He was a longtime member of the Party of Democratic Action, until he left it to join the Union for a Better Future of BiH. TerziÄ was born in Zagreb in 1960, before moving to Sarajevo in his youth. He graduated from the University of Sarajevo in 1986. He was in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Bosnian War. Following the war, TerziÄ served as Governor of Central Bosnia Canton from 1997 to 1998. He was afterwards elected to the Federal Parliament.
