Sheikh Hasina
Sheikh Hasina Wazed (''née'' Sheikh Hasina ; ; bn, শেখ হাসিনা ওয়াজেদ, Shēkh Hasinā, , born 28 September 1947) is a Bangladeshi politician who has served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Prime Minister of Bangladesh since January 2009. Bengali New Year
Pohela Boishakh ( bn, পহেলা বৈশাখ) is the first day of the Bengali calendar which is also the official calendar of Bangladesh. This festival is celebrated on 14 April in Bangladesh and 15 April in the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura, and Assam (Barak Valley) by Bengalis regardless of religious faith. Celebration of Pohela Boishakh traces its roots back to Mughal rule in this region and also the proclamation of tax collection reforms of Akbar. The festival is celebrated with processions, fairs and family time. The traditional greeting for Bengalis in the new year is "''Shubho Noboborsho''" which is literally "Happy New Year". The festive '' Mangal Shobhajatra'' is organized in Bangladesh. In 2016, the UNESCO declared this festivity organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka as a cultural heritage of humanity. Sheikh Helal Uddin
Sheikh Helal Uddin is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and member of parliament from Bagerhat-1. Early life Sheikh Helal was born on 1 January 1961. He studied up to H.S.C. or grade 12. His father Sheikh Naser was the younger brother of Sheikh Mujib, the first president of Bangladesh, who was killed in assassination of Sheikh Mujib. He is the cousin of Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. Career Sheikh Helal's election rally in Mollahat Upazila in 2001 was bombed by members Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami. He was elected to Parliament from Bagerhat-1 in 1996 in a by-election after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina abdicated the seat. She was elected in 3 seats. He was re-elected in 2001 from Bagerhat-1. In 2008, Sheikh Hasina won the election from Bagerhat-1, Rangpur-6, and Gopalganj-3 but vacated Bagerhat-1 and Rangpur-6.
