Henri Storck
Henri Storck (5 September 1907 – 17 September 1999) was a Belgian writer, filmmaker and documentarist. In 1933, he directed, with Joris Ivens, ''Misère au Borinage'', a film about the miners in the Borinage area. In 1938, with Andre Thirifays and Pierre Vermeylen, he founded the Cinémathèque Royale de Belgique (Royal Belgian Film Archive). Storck was an actor in two key films of the history of the cinema: Jean Vigo's ''Zéro de conduite'' (1933) in the role of the priest, and Chantal Akerman's '' Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quay Commercial, 1080 Brussels'' (1975) in the role of a customer of the prostitute. Michèle Fabien
Michèle Gérard (she wrote under the name Michèle Fabien) (April 2, 1945 – September 10, 1999) was a Belgian writer and playwright. The daughter of Albert S. Gérard, a professor of literature, she was born in Genk. She received a PhD from the University of Liège. With Marc Liebens, she helped create the Ensemble Théâtral Mobile, a Belgian theatre company, and was one its resident writers from 1974. Fabien suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died a few days later at the age of 54 in Caen, Normandy. She was buried at Saint-Pierre-la-Vieille cemetry. Paul Leo-Mary Serruys C.I.C.M. (19 November 191216 August 1999) was a Belgian missionary, sinologist, and academic best known for his studies on the grammar of Classical Chinese, oracle bone script, and on the varieties of Chinese. He was a member of the CICM Missionaries, ''Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae'' (Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary) missionary order, and proselyted in China in the 1930s, then later became a professor of Chinese at the University of Washington. Frans Grootjans
Frans Edward Elisabeth Grootjans (24 January 1922 – 20 February 1999), was a Belgian politician and minister for the PVV. Grootjans was born at Wilrijk. He became a licentiate in the trade and consular sciences and was chief editor and director of the newspaper '' De Nieuwe Gazet''. He was a Municipal Council member (1971–1986) in Antwerp and a member of parliament (1954–1987) for the district Antwerp for the PVV. Grootjans was President of the PVV (1973–1977 and 1981–1982). He was minister of national education (1966–1968) and of finances and medium-sized business (1985). He was also President of the Flemish Council (1985–1987).
