1997 World Weightlifting Championships
The 1997 World Weightlifting Championships were held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from December 6 to December 14, 1997. In the men's tournament there were a total number of 189 athletes (51 nations) competing, while there were 143 women in action from 29 nations. Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai (, from th, เชียงใหม่ , nod, , เจียงใหม่ ), sometimes written as Chiengmai or Chiangmai, is the largest city in northern Thailand, the capital of Chiang Mai province and the second largest city in Thailand.
