Morgane (singer)
Morgane (born Ingrid Simonis; 23 August 1975, in Blegny) is a Belgian singer, best known for her participation in the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest. Eurovision Song Contest On 8 March 1992, Morgane's song " Nous, on veut des violons" ("We Want Violins") was chosen from ten entrants as Belgium's representative in the 37th Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 9 May in Malmö, Sweden. "Nous, on veut des violons" proved unsuccessful at the contest, finishing in 20th place of 23 entries, having received points from only four other countries. Later career After Eurovision, Morgane released several more records and made frequent television appearances, before falling out of view in the mid-1990s. She continued her involvement in music, albeit not in the public eye, and became a mother of three children. Eurovision Song Contest 1992
The Eurovision Song Contest 1992 was the 37th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Malmö, Sweden, following the country's victory at the with the song "" by Carola. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (SVT), the contest was held at the Malmö Isstadion on 9 May 1992 and was hosted by Swedish journalists Lydia Capolicchio and Harald Treutiger. Twenty-three countries took part in the contest with the returning after being absent the year before. This set another record for the most participating countries in the history of the competition, which would be broken again the following year. The 1992 contest also saw the last participation of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, as they were banned from competing only a few weeks later due to the Yugoslav Wars. Belgium competed at the Eurovision Song Contest 1992, represented by Morgane with "Nous, on veut des violons". Before Eurovision Finale nationale Concours Eurovision de la Chanson The Walloon broadcaster, RTBF, was in charge of the Belgian Eurovision entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1992, held in Malmö, Sweden. The selection was hosted by Thierry Luthers and the winner was chosen by five regional juries (Brabant, Hainaut, Liège, Luxembourg, Namur), plus a jury consisting of music professionals. Gerard Joling
Gerard Jan Joling (born 29 April 1960) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. Known for his high tenor voice, he rose to fame in the late 1980s and released a string of singles including "Ticket to the Tropics" and "Love Is in Your Eyes". He also achieved success in Asia and received more than 20 gold and platinum records. In 1988, he was the Dutch participant in the Eurovision Song Contest 1988, with the song "Shangri-La". His biggest hit was " No More Boleros" that reached the top 10 in several countries in mainland Europe. ''Samson & Gert'' is a Flemish children's television series produced by Eline van Noppen, centered on the talking dog Samson and his owner Gert. In its entire run, the show was originally aired on TV1 from Christmas Day 1989 until 1 December 1997, where it moved to Ketnet and continues airing all of its episodes to this day.
