Ragnar Sigurðsson
Ragnar Sigurðsson (born 19 June 1986) is an Icelandic former professional footballer who played as centre-back. Beginning his career with Fylkir, he went on to represent IFK Göteborg, Copenhagen, Krasnodar, Fulham, Rubin Kazan, Rostov, and Rukh Lviv before retiring at Fylkir in 2021. A full international between 2007 and 2020, he won 97 caps for the Iceland national team and represented his country at the UEFA Euro 2016, reaching the quarter-finals, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Club career IFK Göteborg After playing for Fylkir, Ragnar joined Swedish club IFK Göteborg in 2006. He made his Allsvenskan debut on 6 April 2007, starting the first match of the 2007 season. Jón Helgason (June 30, 1899 - January 19, 1986) was an Icelandic philologist and poet. He was head of the Danish Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic Studies from 1927 to 1972 and professor of Icelandic studies at the University of Copenhagen from 1929 to 1969. He made significant contributions to his field. As a poet he was not prolific but noted for his highly polished and effective traditional poetry. His best-known poems are ''Áfangar'' and ''Í Árnasafni''. One of his discoveries at the institute is the pair of glossaries that are the only documentation on Basque–Icelandic pidgin. Guðmundur Pétursson (born ) is an Icelandic footballer. He is a forward and is currently under contract at Breiðablik. He has also played for Iceland at under-21 level. Club career ÍR (2004–2006) Born in Reykjavík, Pétursson began his career with ÍR, based in Reykjavík in 2004. In his first season, Pétursson played 17 games for ÍR, mainly coming on as a substitute. Hallbera Guðný Gísladóttir (born 14 September 1986) is an Icelandic footballer who plays for Swedish Damallsvenskan club IFK Kalmar and the Iceland national team.
