Thomas Helmut "Tom" Beck (born 26 February 1978) is a German actor, singer, and entrepreneur. Early life Beck finished high school in Neues Gymnasium Nürnberg. He then attended the Bavarian Theatre Academy in Munich, under the Musical degree programme, where he was trained musically and in dancing, and finished with his thesis, ''Beck-Stage.'' Career Beck played and sang in two bands; he left King Schlayer, his second, in 2001 after the second year. After receiving his award at the National Singing Competition in 2001, Beck was engaged as a performer in musicals between 2005 and 2007. Since 2004 he appeared in various television productions. From autumn 2008 to the end of 2013, Beck was seen in the action series ''Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei'' alongside Erdoğan Atalay as ''Kriminallhauptkommissar'' Ben Jäger. Mark Leon Medlock (born 9 July 1978) is a German singer and the winner of the season 4 of '' Deutschland sucht den Superstar'' (DSDS), the German version of ''Pop Idol''. Early life Medlock is the elder of two siblings, born to an African-American father from Georgia, Larry Medlock, and a German mother, Monika, in Frankfurt am Main. Mark and his brother Larry were raised in a semi-poor home in the Lohwaldsiedlung neighborhood of Offenbach am Main during their formative years, before eventually moving to the Lauterborn neighborhood in 1997. At the age of 6, Medlock began singing gospel, widely influenced by his father and soul singers such as James Brown and Barry White. At the end of the 1990s, his mother fell sick with cancer. Nils Schumann (; born 20 May 1978) is a former German athlete, winner of the 800 m at the 2000 Summer Olympics, who retired in 2009. For most of the five years before his retirement he had featured sparingly at an international level due to injuries. Schumann, born in Bad Frankenhausen, began his career as a footballer in 1984 before switching to athletics. He won a gold medal over 800 m at the 1998 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Valencia. At the European Championships in Budapest in the same year, he won the title in a close finish.
