Jef Aerts (born 26 May 1972) is a Belgian writer of children’s and youth literature. Life and career After publishing four novels, poetry and theater, Jef Aerts has been writing for young readers since 2012. For the picture book ''Bigger than a Dream'' he worked with the Swedish-Dutch illustrator Marit Törnqvist. In 2014 this book was awarded the Book Lion (Boekenleeuw, prize for the best Dutch-language children's book. Jef Aerts received three Zilveren Griffel awards: for ''Bigger than a Dream'', ''Fish don’t melt'' and ''The Blue Wings'' (illustrated by Martijn van der Linden). Aerts’ children’s and youth books have been translated and sold in 15 languages, including English, German, Swedish, Chinese, Korean, Russian and Persian. Jef Aerts lives and writes in a small farm close to Leuven.

Karel Kaers
Karel Kaers (3 June 1914 – 20 December 1972) was a Belgian professional cyclist with 30 wins. Kaers was born in Vosselaar. In 1934 he became the youngest world road champion, winning in Leipzig at 20. It was the first time he had ridden the race. He also won the Tour of Flanders in 1939, and the Belgian national championship in 1937. His last race was on the track at Ordrup, near Copenhagen, Denmark, on 9 May 1948. He finished fourth in an omnium competition. Youngest world champion Lance Armstrong is frequently described as the youngest world champion. In fact, he was only the third youngest road champion when he took the rainbow jersey in Oslo in 1993. Armstrong was two weeks short of 22; Kaers had just turned 20. Camille Tihon
Camille Tihon (1890–1972) was a Belgian archivist and historian. Life Tihon was born in Remicourt, Belgium, on 25 June 1890. Gérard Devos (19 August 1903, Sint-Andries – 5 January 1972, Tielt) was a Belgian football striker. Career Devos started playing football with Cercle Brugge. He made his debut in a 5–1 loss against Standard Liège on 23 October 1921. He played most of his career for the green and black side. He was 7 times the team's top goal scorer, and he also has the 8th most goals in the history of Cercle. Devos won the league title with Cercle in 1927. His last match with Cercle was against Antwerp FC on 3 November 1929. Cercle lost 1–4. Devos ended his career with FC Eeklo, where he would also become manager.
