Events *21 March – Ireland wins the Eurovision Song Contest 1970, Eurovision Song Contest, held in Amsterdam, for the first time with ''All Kinds of Everything'' sung by Dana Rosemary Scallon, Dana. *May – Television in Finland, Finnish Television airs a four-hour broadcast of RTÉ programmes titled ''Ireland Tonight''.
