Imola
Imola (; rgn, Jômla or ) is a city and ''comune'' in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, located on the river Santerno, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. The city is traditionally considered the western entrance to the historical region Romagna. Sture Pettersson
Sture Helge Vilhelm Pettersson (30 September 1942 – 26 June 1983) was a Swedish cyclist. He was part of the road racing team of four Pettersson brothers, known as Fåglum brothers, who won the world title in 1967–1969 and a silver medal at the 1968 Olympics; three of the brothers were also part of the bronze-winning road team at the 1964 Games. In 1967 they were awarded the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal. Petterson turned professional after the 1969 World Championships, together with the other brothers, but had little success and retired in 1972. He was known for pushing himself to the limits. At a 1964 race in Malmö he fainted 12 km before the finish; his brother Gösta rode nearby and managed to catch him from falling. Baiba Caune
Baiba Caune-Morzika (née Baiba Ābere; 12 August 1945 – 7 February 2014) was a Latvian track and road racing cyclist. She won the silver medal at the UCI Road World Championships in the women's road race in 1968 and 1974 representing USSR. She was a member of the sports club Marss, winning 55 Latvian national championships and two USSR championships. Early life Caune was born Baiba Ābere on 12 August 1945, in Stāmeriena parish, Latvia. During the Soviet mass deportation in 1949, Caune and her mother were deported to Parabelsky District in Tomsk Oblast, Russia, and returned back to Latvia in 1955. She began cycling in the Irlava Secondary School. Soon she became a winner of numerous area school competitions, and received 4th Place at the Latvian SSR Spartakiad of Students. Keetie Van Oosten-Hage
Cornelia (Keetie) Hage, known by her married name Keetie van Oosten-Hage, (born 21 August 1949) is a Dutch former cyclist from Sint-Maartensdijk, Zeeland. She came from a family of cyclists, sister of Bella Hage, Heleen Hage and Ciska Hage, and aunt to Jan van Velzen. She was the national pursuit champion 12 times consecutively and won the national road championship nine times, eight times consecutively. She was the World Road Cycling Champion twice, first in 1968 under her maiden name of Cornelia (Keetie/Katie) Hage, then again in 1976 in her married name (shown here). She is one of the great women competitors of all time in international cycling. On 16 September 1978, Hage set a world hour record at Munich with 43.082 km. She improved the world 5 km, 10 km and 20 km records in the same ride. The UCI Road World Championships Elite Women's Road Race is a one-day event for professional cyclists that takes place annually. The winner is considered the ''World Cycling Champion'' (or ''World Road Cycling Champion'') and earns the right to wear the ''Rainbow Jersey'' for a full year in road race or stage events.
