Onésime Gagnon
Onésime Gagnon, (October 23, 1888 – September 30, 1961) was a Canadian politician who served as the 20th Lieutenant Governor of Québec. Background He was born in Saint-Léon-de-Standon, Quebec, on October 23, 1888, and was the son of Onésime Gagnon and Julie Morin. He was a Rhodes scholar and was called to the Quebec Bar in 1912. From 1942 to 1958, he was a Professor in the Faculty of Law at Université Laval. Member of Parliament In 1930, he was elected to the House of Commons of Canada for the riding of Dorchester. A Conservative, he was re-elected in 1935. In 1935, he was a Minister without Portfolio in the cabinet of R. B. Bennett. Provincial politics Gagnon was a leadership candidate at the Conservative Party of Quebec convention, held in Sherbrooke on October 4 and 5, 1933. John Keiller MacKay
Lieutenant-Colonel John Keiller MacKay (July 11, 1888 – June 12, 1970) was a Canadian soldier, lawyer and jurist. MacKay served as the 19th lieutenant governor of Ontario from 1957 to 1963. Early life and education John Keiller MacKay was born on July 11, 1888, in the village of Plainfield in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, the son of John Duncan and Bessie (Murray) MacKay. He was educated at the Pictou Academy, the Royal Military College (1909), Saint Francis Xavier University (BA 1912) and Dalhousie University ( LL.B. 1922). Career Military During World War I, he served in, and later commanded, 6th Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery (Non-Permanent Active Militia in the Canadian Army). Campbell Leonard Macpherson (July 4, 1907 – June 28, 1973) was a businessman born in St. John's, Colony of Newfoundland and was the third lieutenant governor of Newfoundland. The son of Cluny and Eleanora Macpherson, he was educated at Methodist College, St. John's, Westminster School, London and Columbia University was appointed Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1957.
