Swedish Football Champions
Swedish football champions ( sv, Svenska mästare i fotboll) is a title held by the winners of the highest Swedish football league played each year, Allsvenskan. Malmö FF are the holders of the record of most titles with 22 Swedish championships. After winning the 2021 Allsvenskan, Malmö FF are also the reigning Swedish football champions. The title has been contested since 1896 in varying forms of competition. The first Swedish Champions, Örgryte IS, were declared in 1896 when the club won the cup tournament Svenska Mästerskapet. This happened before there existed any Swedish national association, which was not created until 1904. The winners of Svenska Mästerskapet between 1896 and 1904 have retroactively been declared holders of the title by the Swedish Football Association (SvFF). Wicanderska Välgörenhetsskölden
("The Wicander Charity Shield") was a Swedish football cup tournament played between 1905 and 1916, a match was also planned to be played in 1920, but was not. IS Halmia
IS Halmia is a football club, located in Halmstad, Sweden. Background IS Halmia was founded on 16 June 16, 1907 and currently plays in Division 2 Västra Götaland. In early years, the club also played bandy. The first ever bandy game between two organised teams in Halland, is thought to have been played between Halmia and local rival Halmstads BK in 1922. In 1932 Halmia won the Halland district championship in this sport. In 1932 the club also became the first team from Halmstad to reach the Allsvenskan, the top-tier football league in Sweden. In total IS Halmia has played 11 seasons in the Allsvenskan, the last time being in 1979. The club's best spell was from 1944 until 1950 when they spent seven seasons at the top level. Upsala IF
Upsala IF is a Swedish sports club located in the city of Uppsala. Background Upsala IF was formed on 11 December 1904 when IK Swithiod and Erikslunds IK decided to merge. It was intended that the new club would be named Allmänna Idrottsklubben, Uppsala, but the club was refused entry into the Riksidrottsförbundet (Swedish Sports Confederation) because of the similarity to the name used by AIK in the northern suburbs of Stockholm. The name was eventually changed at the beginning of 1907 to Upsala Idrottsförening and the club joined the RF. UIF provides a classic example of a multi-sport club with five active sections covering boxing, football / youth football, athletics, handball and orienteering. Mariebergs IK was a Swedish football and bandy club which was located in Stockholm. The club was founded in 1902 and was nicknamed ''Maris''. Mariebergs IK were one of the better clubs in Sweden in the early 20th century, and they played one season in the highest level of the time, Svenska Serien, in 1911–12.
