Monarchy Of Norway
The Norwegian monarch is the head of state of Norway, which is a constitutional and hereditary monarchy with a parliamentary system. The Norwegian monarchy can trace its line back to the reign of Harald Fairhair and the previous petty kingdoms which were united to form Norway; it has been in unions with both Sweden and Denmark for long periods. The present monarch is King Harald V, who has reigned since 17 January 1991, succeeding his father, Olav V. The heir apparent is his only son, Crown Prince Haakon. The crown prince undertakes various public ceremonial functions, as does the king's wife, Queen Sonja. The crown prince also acts as regent in the king's absence. Paul Andreas Pedersen (18 September 1886 – 16 August 1948) was a Norwegian gymnast who competed in the 1908 and 1912 Summer Olympics. As a member of the Norwegian team, he won a silver medal in the gymnastics team event in 1908. Four years later he was part of the Norwegian team, which won the bronze medal in the gymnastics team, Swedish system event. Svein Olsen Øraker
Svein Olsen Øraker (10 August 1886 in Vestre Slidre – 27 September 1963) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from the Market towns of Sør-Trøndelag and Nord-Trøndelag counties in 1937, and was re-elected on one occasion. He previously served as deputy representative during the terms 1922–1924, 1925–1927, 1928–1930, 1931–1933 and 1934–1936. Øraker was much involved in local politics. He served in Hammerfest city council as deputy mayor in 1916–1917 and mayor in 1918. He then held various positions in Levanger city council from 1922 to 1945, serving as deputy mayor in 1922–1924, 1928 and 1937–1939 and mayor in 1927, 1928–1930 and 1945–1947. Jacob Prytz
Jacob Prytz (12 June 1886 – 23 November 1962) was a Norwegian goldsmith and designer. Personal life Prytz was born in Kristiania on 12 June 1886, a son of architect, goldsmith and politician Torolf Prytz and Hilda Tostrup. He married Ingerid Juel in 1912, and they were parents of Grete Prytz Kittelsen. Career Prytz studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry from 1904 to 1908, and further at the academy in Hanau and at the Beaux-Arts de Paris. From 1913 he was artistic director in the family company J. Tostrup. He designed major parts of the company's collection at the 1914 Jubilee Exhibition, and this exhibition is regarded as his breakthrough as goldsmith. From 1914 he was assigned as teacher for the goldsmith class at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry.
