is the largest Norwegian biographical encyclopedia. The first edition (NBL1) was issued between 1921 and 1983, including 19 volumes and 5,100 articles. It was published by Aschehoug with economic support from the state. bought the rights to NBL1 from Aschehoug in 1995, and after a pre-project in 1996–97 the work for a new edition began in 1998. Johan Von Mangelsen
Johan von Mangelsen (12 September 1694 – 24 February 1769) was a Norwegian military officer and businessperson. He was born in Berg (current Halden), and was married to Cathrine Bugball, a daughter of Sara Hammond. He was Norways's principal representative at the border negotiations with Sweden between 1743 and 1751. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general in 1758. Through his marriage, Mangelsen became a significant shareholder of the Røros Copper Works The Røros Copper Works at Røros in Trøndelag, Norway operated from 1644 to 1977. Hans Jacob Stabel
Hans Jacob Stabel (27 August 1769 – 7 January 1836) was a Norwegian priest and elected official. Hans Stabel was born at the parsonage where his father was parish pastor in Onsøy at Fredrikstad in Østfold. In 1792, he took a job as personnel chaplain in Onsøy. From 1799 he was an assistant pastor at Slidre in Oppland. In 1806, he became pastor in Sør-Aurdal. He was a vicar in Kristiansand from 1822 to 1825. He served as pastor in Østre Toten from 1825 until he died in 1836. In 1814, he was a member of the Norwegian Constituent Assembly, constitutional assembly to draft and sign the Norwegian Constitution as a representative from Oppland, Kristians amt, now Oppland. Eilert Waldemar Preben Ramm
Eilert Waldemar Preben Ramm (4 May 1769 – 15 March 1837) was a Norwegian military officer and representative at the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly in 1814. Background Eilert Ramm was born at the village of Furnes at Ringsaker in Hedmark, Norway. Ramm first joined the Zealand Light Dragon Regiment (''sjællandske lette dragonregimentet '') in 1787. He rose through the ranks, and was later First Lieutenant and Captain of the cavalry in 1808. Career He represented Søndenfjeldske Dragon-Regiment at the Norwegian Constituent Assembly at Eidsvold in 1814. He was one of the two representative from Søndenfjeldske Dragon-Regiment together with Peder Paulsen Balke . He belonged to the independence party (''Selvstendighetspartiet''). Andreas Landmark (14 April 1769 – 2 December 1839) was a Norwegian politician and civil servant. Biography Personal life He was born in Christiania to Nils Svensson – a weaver from Värmland, Sweden – and Karen Andersdatter Killerud. His brother was Nils Landmark. Contrary to some sources, he was not born with the name Landmark, but some of the children took the name as adults. Landmark grew up with an uncle in Aurskog. He married Jacobine Caroline Wind (1733–1833). They had nine children, although at least one died young.
