Sivert Aarflot
Sivert Knudsen Aarflot (October 23, 1759 – April 14, 1817) was a Norwegian figure in popular education. He worked as a schoolteacher in Volda in the Sunnmøre district and then served as a ''lensmann''. Life Aarflot is known for his work in community education and for introducing improvements in agriculture. As a young man, he was taught by the parish priest Hans Strøm in Volda. He became a peripatetic teacher in 1778 and then a ''lensman'' in Volda in 1798. In 1800 he moved to the Ekset farm, where he set up a print shop in 1808 and issued the weekly newspaper '' Norsk Landboeblad''. He also established a Sunday school here in 1802, where teaching in the natural sciences had a prominent place, and he made his book collection available to the general public. For these efforts, he was honored with the gold medal of the Danish Society of Agriculture. Mathias Collett
Mathias Collett (10 September 1708 – 24 March 1759) was a Norwegian civil servant. Collett was born in Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of merchant and city captain James Collett (1687-1724) and Karen Berg (1687-1744). He was the grandson of English-born, Norwegian merchant James Collett (1655–1727). He served as County Governor of Finmarkens amt (now Finnmark) from 1750 to 1757, and County Governor of Christians Amt (now Oppland) from 1757 to 1759. Rasmus Paludan (bishop)
Rasmus Paludan (26 February 1702 – 8 January 1759) was a Norwegian theologian and priest. He served as a bishop of the Diocese of Christianssand from 1751 until 1759. Personal life Rasmus Paludan was born on 26 February 1702 in Christiania, Norway. He was the son of Frederik Rasmussen and Anne Jacobsdatter. Paludan was married three times. He first married Margrethe Garmann in 1732, but she died in 1742. Then he married Johanne Fischer in 1743, and she died in 1754. He finally married Anna Margrethe Pohlmann in 1755 and they were married for about four years until his death on 8 January 1759. Over his lifetime, he fathered many children. Lars Larsen Forsæth (baptized 9 December 1759 – 12 February 1839) was a Norwegian farmer who served as a representative at the Norwegian Constituent Assembly. His brother Paul Larsen Forsæth (1762–1817) and their father, Lars Larsen Forsæth (1731–1812) were the only survivors in his family after his mother and four siblings died of dysentery during the summer of 1773. The two brothers took over operation of the farm in 1788. Both brothers were enterprising farmers who over time bought additional properties. Lars Forsæth served as one of the Settlement Commissioners (''Forlikskommissær'') on the Conciliation Board (''Forliksråd'') for his community for many years. Just Henrik Ely (30 November 1759 – 30 March 1824) was a Norwegian military officer who served as a representative at the Norwegian Constitutional Assembly during 1814. Just Henrik Ely born at Stavanger in Rogaland, Norway. His father was a military officer, and later customs inspector in Tønsberg. In 1776, Just Henrik Ely became Sergeant. Frederik Kastrud Petersen (9 November 1759 – 22 August 1825) was a Norwegian painter known primarily for his portraits. Biography Petersen was born at Ringebu in Oppland, Norway.
