Nicola Salvi
Nicola Salvi or Niccolò Salvi (6 August 1697 (Rome) – 8 February 1751 (Rome)) was an Italian architect; among his few projects completed is the famous Trevi fountain in Rome, Italy. Biography Admitted to the Roman Academy of Arcadia in 1717, Salvi became an architect only after studies in mathematics and philosophy. His mentor in architecture was Antonio Canevari, who served also as consulting architect for the king of Portugal. In 1728, Canevari left for Lisbon, and Salvi continued his commissions in Rome. Among these were ephemeral decorations and small decorative projects. In Rome, the patronage for the building of large structures had declined relative to the previous century. In 1732, competitions were held by Pope Clement XII for two large projects. One was to create a new façade for the church of Saint John Lateran, and another was for a public fountain at Trevi (rione of Rome), Trevi. Johanne Seizberg
Johanne Seizberg (1732–1772) was a Danish artist, drawing artist, and illustrator, and a teacher. Probably born in Augsburg in Germany, She was daughter of the printer Riedlinger and married Lieutenant Simon Philippinus Nerius Seizberg. From 1754, she was a student of the artist couple Frants Michael Regenfuss and Margaretha Ludwig. She illustrated the ''Auserlesne Schnecken, Musscheln und andere Schaalthiere'' (1758), and the ''Flora Danica'' (1761). In 1762, she became a teacher in the art school for female students protected by the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. In 1772, the school was closed after the fall of Johann Friedrich Struensee Lensgreve Johann Friedrich Struensee (5 August 1737 – 28 April 1772) was a German-Danish physician, philosopher and statesman. Christian Gottlob Fechhelm
Christian Gottlob Fechhelm (1732–1816) was a portrait and historical painter, born in Dresden. He studied under Mengs, Manjocky, and Hutin, first portrait painting, and then miniature. In the Seven Years' War Maria Theresa commissioned him to paint the portraits of the generals engaged in that campaign for the Military School at Vienna. Fechhelm died at Dresden in 1816. Pehr Hilleström
Pehr Hilleström (18 November 1732 – 13 August 1816) was a Swedish artist. He served as a professor and director at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts. Biography Hilleström was born on the island of Väddö in the district of Roslagen, Sweden where his uncle who was the vicar. He was the eldest of twelve children. He was first trained by landscape artist Johan Philip Korn (1727–1796). He received training at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts from artist Guillaume Taraval (1701–1750) and architect Jean Eric Rehn (1717–1793). Between 1757 and 1758, Hilleström made a study trip abroad. The journey went to Paris, Belgium and Holland. He furthered his education in the tapestry techniques and became a master tapestry weaver. From 1759, he operated a weaving workshop in Stockholm. In 1773, Hilleström became a member of the board of the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts. Christopher Unterberger
Christopher Unterberger, also Christoph or Cristoforo (27 May 1732 – 25 January 1798) was an Italian painter of the early- Neoclassical period. Biography He was born in Cavalese in County of Tyrol (today located in Trentino, Italy). He was initially taught drawing by an uncle, Franz Sebald Unterberger, and then in the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, where another uncle, Michelangelo Unterberger, was the co-director from 1751-1758. He then traveled to Venice and Verona, where he studied under Giambettino Cignaroli; and finally in 1758, to Rome. In Rome, he befriended and fell under the influence of Anton Rafael Mengs, and copied the works of Pietro da Cortona, in whose style he produced two altar-pieces of ''St. Jules'' and ''St. Agnes'' for the cathedral of Brixen.
