C. R. Técnico
Clube de Rugby do Técnico or C.R. Técnico is a Portuguese rugby union club. Técnico has won 3 Championships and 4 Portuguese Cup's. It was founded in 1963, by four rugby union players and students of Instituto Superior Técnico, Técnico, Alfredo Santos, José Luis Steiger, José Metelo and Pedro Sousa Ribeiro. In the late eighties, it set out to build his own field in Olaias, leaving Estádio Universitário de Lisboa where it used to play. C.R Técnico has all age groups teams, from Under 8 to Veterans, including 2 senior teams and a women's side also. Rugby union, commonly known simply as rugby, is a close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in the first half of the 19th century. One of the two codes of rugby football, it is based on running with the ball in hand. Instituto Superior Técnico MHSE • MHIP (IST, also known colloquially as Técnico, and stylized TÉCNICO LISBOA) is a public school of engineering and technology, part of University of Lisbon. The Lisbon University Stadium ( pt, Estádio Universitário de Lisboa) is a unit within the University of Lisbon, and a multivenue park located in Alvalade, Lisbon, comprising several sports facilities, and mostly known for its main venue and namesake, the ''Estádio de Honra'', a multi-use stadium.
