C. L. Ruala
C. L. Ruala (born 25 December 1935) is an Indian politician from Mizoram and member of the Indian National Congress. He was a Member of Parliament of the 16th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. He was elected from the only one-seat Mizoram constituency. He won over Robert Romawia, IND candidate, and M. Lalmanzuala, Aam Aadmi Party candidate, by getting a total vote 210,485 (48.7%). He was also elected member in the previous term during 2009-2014. Education After schooling in Mizoram he was educated at St. Edmund's College, Shillong (under Gauhati University) and graduated with B.A. and B.T. Personal life Ruala was born in a small village of Chawnhu in southern Mizoram to father Thanzinga and mother Thangpuii. He married Lalhmingthangi on 8 February 1966, and they have five sons. Lawngtlai District
Lawngtlai district is one of the eleven districts of Mizoram state in India. The district is bounded on the north by Lunglei district, on the west by Bangladesh, on the south by Myanmar and on the east by Saiha district. The district occupies an area of 2557.10 km2. Lawngtlai town is the administrative headquarters of the district. The district shares its boundaries with Lunglei and Saiha districts on the north and south respectively. The inhabitants of the district are mainly the ethnic groups of tribals like Pang, Lai and Chakma, who are among the minor tribal communities of Mizoram. The main occupation is cultivation and the rural population largely depends on agriculture for their subsistence. Mizo National Front
The Mizo National Front ( MNF) is a regional political party in Mizoram, India. MNF emerged from the Mizo National Famine Front, which was formed by Pu Laldenga to protest against the inaction of the Indian central government towards the famine situation in the Mizo areas of the Assam state in 1959. It staged a major uprising in 1966, followed by years of underground activities. In 1986, it signed the Mizoram Accord with the Government of India, renouncing secession and violence. The MNF then began contesting elections and has formed state government in Mizoram three times. It is currently the state's ruling party, with its president, Zoramthanga, as the Chief Minister of Mizoram.
