C. K. McClatchy II
Charles Kenny McClatchy (March 25, 1927 – April 16, 1989) was an American newspaper publisher. He was a son of Carlos K. McClatchy, the first editor of ''The Fresno Bee''. He became president of McClatchy Newspapers upon the death of his aunt, Eleanor McClatchy in 1980. ''The Fresno Bee'' is a daily newspaper serving Fresno, California, and surrounding counties in that U.S. state's central San Joaquin Valley. It is owned by The McClatchy Company and ranks fourth in circulation among the company's newspapers. It is currently headquartered in the Bitwise 41 building at 2721 Ventura Street. Eleanor McClatchy
Eleanor Grace McClatchy (1895–1980) was an American newspaper executive, serving as president of the McClatchy newspapers from 1936 until 1978. She was the youngest daughter of Charles Kenny McClatchy. Erwin Potts
Erwin Potts (April 20, 1932 – May 18, 2017) was the first non-McClatchy family member CEO of the McClatchy Company from 1989 to 1996. Potts was born in Pineville, North Carolina, attended Mars Hill College and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina. Between 1958 and 1970, he was a reporter, city editor and assistant manager at the ''Miami Herald''. He was general manager of the Tallahassee Democrat, ''The Charlotte Observer'' and ''The Charlotte News''. In 1989 he became president of McClatchy and in 1996 became CEO. He was chairman when he retired in 2001.
