C. Gordon Mackie
Charles Gordon Stewart Mackie was a Scottish businessman in Hong Kong and member of the Legislative Council and Executive Council of Hong Kong. Biography C. Gordon Mackie was associated with China and Hong Kong and head of many public utilities companies. He was the head of the two big local firms, Mackinnon, Mackenzie & Co., the shipping company and managing director of the Gibb, Livingston & Co., agent for the public utility company Hong Kong Electric Company. He had also been chairman and deputy chairman of the board of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. Mackie was made Justice of the Peace and was elected to the Legislative Council as representative of the Justices of the Peace during the absence of Henry Pollock in May and October 1928. The Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (LegCo) is the unicameral legislature of Hong Kong. It sits under China's " one country, two systems" constitutional arrangement, and is the power centre of Hong Kong's hybrid representative democracy. Stanley Hudson Dodwell
Stanley Hudson Dodwell (1878–1960), CBE was a British businessperson and politician who was active in Hong Kong. He served as the chairman of Dodwell & Co. and member of the Legislative Council and the Executive Council of Hong Kong. Business career S. H. Dodwell was a nephew of George Benjamin Dodwell, founder of Dodwell & Co., which was one of the leading British merchant firms in the late 19th and early 20th century. He joined the company in January 1897 and began with a salary of £30 per annum. In 1899 Dodwell became the company's representative on the Baltic Shipping Exchange, responsible for arranging tonnage to fill Dodwell & Company's turns on the New York berth. He took charge of the firm from his uncle in 1912 and remained as chairman until 1953. Besides his own firm, he was also on the board of many local leading companies. Thomas Ernest Pearce
Thomas Ernest Pearce (19 February 1883 – 19 December 1941) was a British businessman and member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. Pearce was born on 19 February 1883. His father Rev. Thomas William Pearce, O.B.E, LL.D. spent nearly half a century working in China as a missionary and translator, and was closely associated with the educational development in Hong Kong. Pearce went to boarding school in Blackheath, South London, from 1896–99; he attended the School for the Sons of Missionaries, the predecessor of Eltham College, where he excelled in cricket and rugby. When in 1912 the school moved to its current site, in Mottingham, South London, Pearce donated the Blackheath Cup, which is still awarded for all-round sporting excellence. John Johnstone Paterson
John Johnstone Paterson (29 October 1886 - 29 January 1971) was a tai-pan of Jardine Matheson & Co. and a member of the Executive Council and Legislative Council of Hong Kong. Biography The eldest son of William Paterson, a former partner at Jardine Matheson & Co. in the 1870s and 1880s, J. J. Paterson followed in his father's footsteps, becoming managing director of the firm in the 1930s. He also served as chairman of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation on three occasions between 1932 and 1941. Paterson was first appointed to the Legislative Council in April 1930 as a stand-in for B. D. F. Beith. Subsequently, he was re-appointed to two four-year-terms in 1934 and 1938.
