Universidad Católica del Ecuador is a association football, football club based in Quito, Ecuador. They play in the top tier of Ecuadorian football and have spent the majority of their history in the top-flight Serie A de Ecuador, Serie A. Universidad Católica was officially founded on 15 May 1963. Historic rivals include LDU Quito, Sociedad Deportiva Aucas, Aucas, Club Deportivo El Nacional, El Nacional and Sociedad Deportivo Quito, Deportivo Quito. History Universidad Católica was founded as a university football team for Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, a Catholic university in Quito. In 1962, they won the inter-university championship. Soon after, they became a football club on 15 May 1963 under ''Liga Deportiva de la Universidad Católica''. Miguel Rondelli
Miguel Ángel Rondelli (born 24 January 1978) is an Argentine football manager, currently in charge of Peruvian club Cusco. Career Rondelli was born in Buenos Aires. After playing in the youth categories of Vélez Sarsfield, All Boys and Lamadrid, he retired at the age of just 16, and studied informatics before moving to coaching at the age of 25. Rondelli subsequently worked in the youth sides of Vélez Sarsfield for twelve years, and moved abroad in 2018, joining Ecuadorian side Universidad Católica del Ecuador and being initially assigned as manager of the youth setup. Patricio Antonio Lara Giorgetti (born 15 August 1956) is an Argentine football manager. Career Lara was born in Quilmes. After starting his career with hometown side Argentino de Quilmes' youth setup in 1983, he managed a number of teams in his home country (notably Atlético Tucumán in 1997 and 1998) before moving to Ecuador in 2002, as manager of Audaz Octubrino. Jorge César Fortunato Célico (born 13 September 1964) is an Argentine retired football manager and former player who played as a goalkeeper. Career A Huracán youth player, Buenos Aires-born Célico was promoted to the first team in 1982, appearing once on the bench but being subsequently released.
