Quelepa
Quelepa is an important archaeological site located in eastern El Salvador. Generally considered to have been settled by the Lenca people, the site was founded around 400 BC in the Late Preclassic period (500 BC - AD 250). The inhabitants constructed a platform from plaster and pumice and rebuilt it a number of times. Artefacts recovered during the excavations of the site indicate that the local population depended upon subsistence agriculture, these artefacts included ''metates'' (a kind of mortar) and '' comales'' (a type of griddle). The site belonged to the Mesoamerican cultural region. Quelepa means "stone jaguar" in the Lenca language, probably in reference to the large Jaguar Altar found at the site. Throughout its occupational history, the inhabitants crafted stone tools from obsidian. San Miguel Department (El Salvador)
San Miguel () is a department in the eastern part of El Salvador. The capital is San Miguel. The department is 2,077 km2 in area and has a population of over 678,000. Before the Spanish conquest of El Salvador, the territory that now consists of the departments of San Miguel, La Unión and Morazán was the Lenca kingdom of Chaparrastique (Place of Beautiful Orchids). San Miguel was first known as San Miguel de la Frontera. The city was founded by Luis de Moscoso on May 8, 1530, where it is now Santa Elena. On July 11, 1812, the city was given the title of "Noble y Leal Ciudad" (noble and loyal city). It was made a department on June 12, 1824. Tercera Division De Fútbol Salvadoreño
Tercera Division de Fútbol Salvadoreño is the third division of football in El Salvador. The champion is promoted to the Segunda División de El Salvador. The team with the lowest points in each group will be demoted to the amateur league. Structure There are 24 clubs in Tercera Division divided into 4 groups of 10. They play in Apertura and Clausura. The clubs plays every team in each group twice. The top four teams from each group, 16 teams in total, qualify for play-offs to determine the winner of the apertura and clausura title. The winners will be promoted to the Segunda División de El Salvador. Juan Antonio Merlos
Juan Antonio "Maquinita" Merlos Cabrera (December 3, 1941 – December 6, 2014) was a Salvadoran football player and manager. Club career Nicknamed ''Maquinita'', Merlos was snapped up by Águila at Racing San Miguel and took part in their promotion to the Primera División de Fútbol de El Salvador in 1958. He also won his and the club's first league title in 1959, scoring one of the goals in the first leg of the Final. He still is one of Águila's all-time top goalscorers after forming a formidable frontline partnership in the 1960s with players like Juan Francisco Barraza and Saúl Molina. He also played for Municipal Limeño and Luis Ángel Firpo after leaving Águila. Salvador Arturo Coreas Privado (born 22 November 1960 in Quelepa) is a retired Salvadoran football player who has also been working as a coach. He currently is the coach of C.D. Aguila He is the brother of Víctor Coreas Privado, the late Luis Abraham Coreas Privado, Marcos Coreas and Carlos Coreas. Club career Nicknamed ''Macho Seco'', Coreas started playing football in the youth team of Quelepita and moved to local rivals Liberal when 14 years old. Nelson Mauricio Ancheta Flores (born 30 July 1963 in Chalchuapa) is a former Salvadoran professional football player and currently manager. Playing career Nelson Ancheta began his career playing at Universidad Católica de El Salvador during his youth. Afterwards he joined Once Lobos where he would play eleven years in two different spells (playing in between the Primera División and Segunda División). He would go on to play for Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas and Huracán; the latter would be where he would finish his playing career in 1997.
