C.D. Guadalajara Femenil is a Mexican professional women's football club based in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico that competes in the Liga MX Femenil. The club has been the women's section of C.D. Guadalajara since 2017. Nicknames for the team are Chivas and the Rebaño Sagrado, the same as the men's team. The team play its home matches at Estadio Akron. C.D. Guadalajara Femenil is one of only four clubs that have been able to win the Liga MX Femenil title, winning the league title on two occasions. History Professional era, the beginning C.D. Guadalajara Femenil was founded on 5 December 2016, the same day that Liga MX Femenil was announced by the FMF. Luis Camacho was appointed as the first manager of Chivas femenil on 3 January 2017. Estadio Akron
The Estadio Akron, formerly known as the Estadio Omnilife and Estadio Chivas (''Estadio Chivas'', ), is a multipurpose stadium that is used mostly for football matches. It is the home of Liga MX side C.D. Guadalajara. It is part of the JVC complex, and has a capacity of 48,071. Construction started in February 2004, but due to financial problems and other issues, the stadium's completion was delayed for a number of years. The stadium hosted its first major international event with the first leg of the 2010 Finals of the Copa Libertadores, and hosted the 2011 Pan American Games opening and closing ceremonies. The stadium's artificial field caused great controversy, drawing criticism from many notable players, and in May 2012, it was announced that the stadium would replace the artificial turf with natural grass. Blanca María Félix Castro (born 25 March 1996), known as Blanca Félix, is a Mexican football goalkeeper who currently plays for Guadalajara of the Liga MX Femenil. Club career Guadalajara (2017–present) Blanca Félix was one of the first three goalkeepers to ever play for Club Deportivo Guadalajara in the first Liga Femenil MX season. She started the tournament as the third goalkeeper following Karen Gómez and Ana Ruvalcaba as the first and second goalkeepers.
