C.D. Atlético Español
Club Deportivo Atlético Español was a football club based in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. History One of the current Honduran league's founding members, the club competed in the Liga Nacional de Fútbol de Honduras several times from the inaugural season in 1965 until 1971 when Verdún purchased its franchise. They were named ''Atlético Español Glidden'', then ''Atlético Español Sahsa'' before being renamed ''Atlético Español Verdún''. The 1965–66 Honduran Liga Nacional season was the inaugural edition of the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras, Honduran Liga Nacional. Pumas de la UNAH or simply Universidad was a Honduran football club. History They were formed to represent the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras. They merged with Broncos, forming ''Broncos de la UNAH'', twice in 1982–83 and 2006–07 and meanwhile played in Choluteca those two seasons. They had initially taken over the '' Club Deportivo Atlético Español'' franchise. During their stay at first division as ''Pumas'', they played in Comayagua. Tegucigalpa (, , ), formally Tegucigalpa, Municipality of the Central District ( es, Tegucigalpa, Municipio del Distrito Central or ''Tegucigalpa, M.D.C.''), and colloquially referred to as ''Tegus'' or ''Teguz'', is the capital and largest city of Honduras along with its sister city, Comayagüela. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world.
