Jonkvrouwe (Lady) Cornélie Caroline "Cox" van Asch van Wijck (17 October 1900 – 18 September 1932) was a Dutch artist and sculptor. Biography Cornélie Caroline "Cox" van Asch van Wijck was born in Arnhem, the daughter of Jonkheer (Lord) :nl:Hubert Willem van Asch van Wijck (1867–1935) and Gravin (Countess) "Wim" Wilhelmina Philippina van Limburg Stirum. (1873–1941). She was the fourth of five children: Constance "Conny", Maurits "Maus", Cecilius "Cecil", Cornélie "Cox" and Wilhelmina Adolphina "Dolph". Cox was named for her Aunt the Christian evangelist, Countess Cornelia van Limburg Stirum, founder of the Christian School for Girls in Arnhem (''Christelijke Meisjesschool'') later renamed the ''Limburg Stirumschool''. In early 1914, the family travelled to Suriname. Cox and her two brothers Maus and Cecil were sent to San Francisco for their studies. Arnhem ( or ; german: Arnheim; South Guelderish: ''Èrnem'') is a city and municipality situated in the eastern part of the Netherlands about 55 km south east of Utrecht. Betuwe
Batavia (; , ) is a historical and geographical region in the Netherlands, forming large fertile islands in the river delta formed by the waters of the Rhine (Dutch: ''Rijn'') and Meuse (Dutch: ''Maas'') rivers. During the Roman empire, it was an important frontier region and source of imperial soldiers. Its name is possibly pre-Roman. Royal Leerdam Crystal (also known as Royal Leerdam) was a Dutch producer of glassware products based in Leerdam, the Netherlands. It was established in 1878 as a department within a glassware producing factory, , itself founded in 1765. From 1938 until 2002 it was part of the Schiedam-based Vereenigde Glasfabrieken. In 2002, the factory became part of the American glass and tableware company Libbey Inc. In 2008, Royal Leerdam was purchased by De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles, becoming part of the Royal Delt Group. Lucienne Bloch
Lucienne Bloch (January 5, 1909 – March 13, 1999) was a Switzerland-born American artist. She was best known for her murals and for her association with the Mexican artist Diego Rivera, for whom she produced the only existing photographs of Rivera's mural ''Man at the Crossroads'', painted in 1933 and destroyed in January 1934 at Rockefeller Center in New York City. Career Background Bloch was born in Geneva, Switzerland, the youngest child of composer and photographer Ernest Bloch. In 1917, the Bloch family emigrated to America. Leerdam () is a city and former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. The municipality was merged with the municipalities of Vianen and Zederik on 1 January 2019. The name of the new municipality is Vijfheerenlanden which is a part of the province Utrecht. The former municipality Leerdam was a part of the province South Holland.
