The Cambodian Premier League ( km, លីគកំពូលកម្ពុជា, ) is the highest professional football division in Cambodia and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Cambodian League 2. Starting with the 2022 season, the Cambodian Premier League is contested by 8 clubs and administered by the Cambodian Football League Company (CFLC). History Origins The first domestic football national championship in Cambodia was first established in 1982 during the People's Republic of Kampuchea years. The competing clubs were primarily based on the Soviet model of official amateur teams formed by ministries, the police, army and other state owned enterprises. In the 2000s, the Cambodian League or C-League was brought about and was rebranded as the Metfone Cambodian League or Metfone C-League at the start of the 2005 season, courtesy of corporate sponsorship of the league’s name. 2020 Metfone C-League is the 36th season of the C-League. Contested by 13 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Cambodian Second League. 2020 season clubs Teams Personnel and Kits Foreign players The number of foreign players is restricted to five per team. 2019 Cambodian League
2019 Metfone C-League is the 35th season of the C-League. Contested by 14 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Cambodian Second League. 2019 season clubs Teams *Notes; * Kirivong Sok Sen Chey and two other teams will be invited to the 2019 season because the Cambodian Second League will not be held in 2019. 2022 Cambodian Premier League
2022 Cambodian Premier League is the 36th season of the Cambodian Premier League, the top Cambodian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1982. Eight teams will be competing in a triple round-robin match. 5 teams that are National Police Commissary, Asia Euro United, Electricite du Cambodge, Prey Veng, and Soltilo Angkor are relegated to the Cambodian League 2 because they did not fulfill the Cambodian Football League Company's requirements. The season began on March 5, 2022. Phnom Penh Crown were the defending champions and successfully defended their title, winning their 2nd consecutive title and 8th title overall. Boeung Ket Angkor FC
Boeung Ket Football Club ( km, ក្លឹបបាល់ទាត់បឹងកេត, ) is a Cambodian professional football club based in Phnom Penh. It currently plays in the Cambodian Premier League, the top tier of football in the country. Founded in 2008 as Boeung Ket Rubber Field, it became Boeung Ket Angkor in 2015 and simply Boeung Ket FC in 2017. Originally based in Kampong Cham province, the club moved to play in Kandal province in 2018 and finally to the country's capital of Phnom Penh in 2019 with its current stadium, Cambodia Airways Stadium. Boeung Ket has won the Cambodian League champions title in 2012, 2016, 2017 and 2020, and was runners-up in 2013, 2014 and 2018. Chan Vathanaka ( km, ចាន់ វឌ្ឍនាកា ; born 23 January 1994) is a Cambodian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Boeung Ket FC and for the Cambodia national team. He is known for his pace, skills, and ability to score free kick goals. Club career Preah Khan Vathanaka played for the senior team of Preah Khan Reach F.C. during the 2011–12 season. Boeung Ket Angkor Vathanaka signed a contract with Boeung Ket in 2012. On 1 August 2015, Vathanaka scored all six goals in a 6–0 win over Asia Europe United.
