C-98 Clipper
The Boeing 314 Clipper was an American long-range flying boat produced by Boeing from 1938 to 1941. One of the largest aircraft of its time, it had the range to cross the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. For its wing, Boeing re-used the design from the earlier XB-15 bomber prototype. Twelve Clippers were built, nine of which served with Pan Am. Design and development Pan American had requested a truly trans-Pacific flying boat with unprecedented range and double the passenger payload of the airline's Martin M-130. Boeing's bid was successful and on July 21, 1936, Pan American signed a contract for six. Boeing engineers adapted the cancelled XB-15's wing, and replaced the Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp radial engines with the Wright Twin Cyclone. Pan Am ordered six more aircraft with increased engine power and capacity for 77 daytime passengers as the Boeing 314A. CJYC-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting from Saint John, New Brunswick at 98.9 FM with a classic hits format branded on-air as ''Kool 98''. The station is owned by the Maritime Broadcasting System. History The station began broadcasting in 1965 as CFBC-FM, the first FM radio station in New Brunswick. CFBC-FM was a companion to CFBC AM. In the early 1980s, CFBC-FM adopted its current callsign. On April 10, 1992, the CRTC denied an application by Fundy II Ltd. to change CJYC's frequency from 98.9 MHz to 94.1 MHz and to change the effective radiated power from 50,000 to 100,000 watts. MBS purchased CFBC and CJYC in 1997 from Fundy Communications. On February 7, 2000, CJYC received CRTC approval to decrease the effective radiated power from 50,000 to 12,000 watts. Cray C98
The Cray C90 series (initially named the Y-MP C90) was a vector processor supercomputer launched by Cray Research in 1991. The C90 was a development of the Cray Y-MP architecture. Compared to the Y-MP, the C90 processor had a dual vector pipeline and a faster 4.1 ns clock cycle (244 MHz), which together gave three times the performance of the Y-MP processor. The maximum number of processors in a system was also doubled from eight to 16. The C90 series used the same Model E IOS (Input/Output Subsystem) and UNICOS operating system as the earlier Y-MP Model E. The C90 series included the C94, C98 and C916 models (configurations with a maximum of four, eight, and 16 processor respectively) and the C92A and C94A (air-cooled models).
