Bělá pod Pradědem (german: Waldenburg) is a municipality in Jeseník District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,700 inhabitants. Administrative parts The municipality is made up of villages of Adolfovice, Bělá, Domašov and Filipovice. Etymology The municipality gained its name after the Bělá river and the nearby Praděd mountain. Bělá pod Bezdězem (german: Weisswasser) is a town in Mladá Boleslav District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,700 inhabitants. The town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as urban monument zone. Bělá Castle ( cs, Hrad Dolní Bělá) is a castle located in Dolní Bělá municipality in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. The first mention of the castle comes from somewhere between 1315 and 1318. History The castle of Bělá was built between 1313 and 1315 by Racek, a member of the influential Czech house of Hroznata. The village itself was first mentioned in a written document in 1318. The Hroznatas held Bělá until 1415, when they sold it to Neustup and Bavor of Švamberk. The castle was sold or even confiscated several times during 15th century and 16th century.
