Bystrinsky Golets (russian: link=no, Быстринский Голец), also known as Barun-Shabartuy, is a mountain in the Chikokon Range. Administratively it is part of the Transbaikal Krai, Russian Federation. Chikokon Range
The Chikokon Range ( rus, Чикоконский хребет) is a mountain range in the Transbaikal Region (Zabaykalsky Krai) of Siberia, Russia. The range is named after the Chikokon River, a small left tributary of the Chikoy River. The Chikokon Range is within the limits of the Trans-Baikal conifer forests ecoregion. The Chikoy National Park is located in the area of the range. Geography The Chikokon Range is part of the Khentei-Daur Highlands, South Siberian System. It rises in the interfluve of the Chikoy River, a right tributary of the Selenga, and some tributaries of the Onon River. The southern part of the ridge acts as watershed between the Arctic and Pacific oceans. The relief is characterized by steep slopes. Golets ( rus, голец), plural Goltsy ( rus, Гольцы), is a type of bald mountain summit of certain areas of Siberia. The term is part of the geographical name of several peaks in the region. Description ''Golets'' protrude above the treeline and are usually round or blunt. They are barren, rocky or stony, and only rarely lichens or stunted small scrubs such as Siberian pine, may grow on them. Bare rock slopes, kurums and cliffs are common. Chikoy National Park
Chikoy National Park (russian: Чикой, национальный парк) was officially created in 2014, on the mountain-steppe border region of south-central Siberia and Mongolia. It is in the Krasnochikoysky District of the Zabaykalsky ("Trans-Baikal") administrative region of Russia. This places the park about 250 miles southeast of Lake Baikal, on the edge of the Lake Baikal ecoregion. The stated purpose for creating the park is the "preservation of unique natural complexes in the upper reaches of the river Chikoy".
