Bynoe, Northern Territory
__NOTOC__ Bynoe is a locality in the Northern Territory of Australia located about south-west of the territorial capital of Darwin. Bynoe consists of land in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Milne with exception of the part of the hundred located south of the Finniss River. It is named after the Bynoe Harbour whose coastline forms its northern boundary. It also includes part of the subdivision known as "Milne Inlet". Its boundaries and name were gazetted on 4 April 2007. The Fog Bay Road passes throughout the locality from the Cox Peninsula Road in the east. The 2016 Australian census which was conducted in August 2016 reports that Bynoe had 96 people living within its boundaries. The Hundred of Milne is a cadastral unit of hundred in Palmerston County, Northern Territory, Australia. Division Of Lingiari
The Division of Lingiari is an Australian electoral division in the Northern Territory that covers the entirety of the territory outside of the Division of Solomon, which covers Darwin and surrounding areas. The division also includes the Christmas and Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Lingiari includes all of the Northern Territory's remote Indigenous communities, most of whom vote when visited by mobile polling teams during the election campaign. The current MP is Marion Scrymgour, a member of the Australian Labor Party. Scrymgour herself is Indigenous and inherited Tiwi identity from her mother. 2016 Australian Census
The 2016 Australian census was the 17th national population census held in Australia. The census was officially conducted with effect on Tuesday, 9 August 2016. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as – an increase of 8.8 per cent or people over the . Norfolk Island joined the census for the first time in 2016, adding 1,748 to the population. The ABS annual report revealed that $24 million in additional expenses accrued due to the outage on the census website. Cox Peninsula Road
The Cox Peninsula Road is a rural road in the Northern Territory of Australia linking the Cox Peninsula and western shore of Darwin Harbour to the Stuart Highway in the rural suburb of Noonamah on the outskirts of Darwin. The route is approximately and passes through the town of Berry Springs as well as the rural areas of Tumbling Waters and Blackmore heading west, before turning north towards the Indigenous community of Belyuen. The road ends at a junction with Charles Point Road in Wagait Shire, a few kilometres west of Mandorah on the Cox Peninsula. In 1987, with the introduction of a state route numbering system for rural roads in the Northern Territory, Cox Peninsular Road was designated State Route 34. The Finniss River is a river south of Darwin, running west from the flank of Mount Minza, passing north of Litchfield National Park and flowing into the sea at Fog Bay. The East Branch of the Finniss was heavily polluted during the 1970s due to uranium mining at Rum Jungle mine about 105 km south of Darwin. The Finniss River Land Claim was presented to Judge John Toohey in 1981 but the former Rum Jungle mine site, contained within Area 4 of the Finniss River Land Claim (1981) was excluded from the grant to the Finniss River Land Trust due to the concerns of the Kungarakany and Warai peoples who are joint traditional Aboriginal owners of that area. Daly is an electoral division of the Legislative Assembly in Australia's Northern Territory. It was created in 2001, and takes its name from the Daly River region which lies at the heart of the electorate. Daly covers some 77,395 km², encompassing the towns of Adelaide River, Acacia Hills, Batchelor, Dundee Beach, Nauiyu Nambiyu, Pine Creek, Timber Creek and Wadeye. There were 5,622 people enrolled in the electorate as of August 2020. Daly is a relatively new electorate in the Northern Territory, having only been created in 2001.
