Petr Zelenka (director)
Petr Zelenka (born 21 August 1967 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech Republic, Czech playwright and director of theatre and film. His films have been recognized at international festivals in Moscow and Rotterdam. In 2008, his film ''Karamazovi'' was the Czech Republic's official Academy Award, Oscar submission for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Film. Career An early notable work is a black comedy, ''Tales of Common Insanity'' (2004) ( cs, Příběhy obyčejného šílenství), which he directed at Dejvické divadlo. He received the Alfréd Radok Awards, Alfréd Radok Award for Best Play. The play was later staged in other Czech theatres as well as in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Germany. It was also published in English and translated to Russian language, Russian. For his film ''Mnâga – Happy End '' he won the 1996 Findling Award at the Filmfestival Cottbus. Pavel Zajíček
Pavel Zajíček (born 15 April 1951, in Prague) is a Czech poet and musician. In 1973, he founded the experimental band DG 307 (named after the code for the psychiatric diagnosis that would exempt young men from compulsory military service) together with bassist Milan Hlavsa. The band was persecuted by the communist regime at the time, turning Zajíček (or "Pavel Z.") into one of the prominent figures in the Czech underground scene during the 1970s. In 1980, he emigrated from Czechoslovakia and lived in Sweden, and later in the United States. After the Velvet Revolution he returned to Czechoslovakia, where he played with the restored DG 307. His lyrics were also used in recordings by the Plastic People of the Universe (for example "Apokalyptickej pták" from '' Egon Bondy's Happy Hearts Club Banned'').
