Henry-Vernon House
Henry-Vernon House is a historic home located near Bushy Fork, Person County, North Carolina. The earliest section was built in 1854, and is a two-story, Greek Revival style frame structure, with a one-story ell. In 1896, a Queen Anne style frame wing was added to the front of the house. Also on the property are two log tobacco barns, a corn crib, and a granary, all contributing buildings. Hurdle Mills is an unincorporated community in southern Person County, North Carolina, Person County and northern Orange County, North Carolina, Orange County, North Carolina, United States. It is located on North Carolina Highway 157, southwest of Roxboro, North Carolina, Roxboro, at an elevation of 614 feet (187 m). The population was 3,770 at the United States Census, 2010, 2010 census. History Hurdle Mills was originally known as Daniel's Mill, when the post office was established in 1846 with William Daniel as postmaster, and the original Gristmill, mill on the Flat River (North Carolina), Flat River was built. Bartlett Yancey High School
Bartlett Yancey High School (BYHS) is a public high school located in Yanceyville, North Carolina, serving students in the ninth through twelfth grade. It is in the Caswell County Schools school district. History The high school is named after U.S. Congressman Bartlett Yancey, Jr. and was founded in 1923. Grades 9–11 were held at the then Bartlett Yancey School. These grades were later moved to a newly constructed high school building in the mid-1930s. It is unknown when a 12th grade class was first added. Bartlett Yancey High School became the only public high school operating in the county when Caswell County High School closed in 1969 due to school integration and consolidation.
