Bush Bucks
Bush Bucks is a South African association football club. The club was founded in 1957 and originally based in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape. In 2001, the team moved to East London. It was nicknamed ''Imbabala (The Bucks)''. History The club was formed by a former official of the Bush Bucks club from Durban who had moved to the area. It was named Umtata Bush Bucks and played at the South African top level ( NSL) from 1976 to 1994, managing to win the league in 1985, 4 finishes in the top-7, They won two Telkom Cups (in 1993 and 1996). They remained at the top level (renamed PSL), moving to East London (outside of the former homeland of Transkei) in 2001, until suffering relegation at the end of the 2002/03 season. They returned after only one season, but were relegated again at the end of 2005/06 season. Mthatha
Mthatha , formerly Umtata, is the main city of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality in Eastern Cape province of South Africa and the capital of OR Tambo District Municipality. The city has an airport, previously known as the K. D. Matanzima Airport after former leader Kaiser Matanzima. Mthatha derives its name from the nearby Mthatha River which was named after the sneezewood (umtati) trees, famous for their wood and medicinal properties. The Eastern Cape is one of the provinces of South Africa. Its capital is Bhisho, but its two largest cities are East London and Gqeberha. Telkom Knockout
The Telkom Knockout was a South African professional football knockout competition which comprised the 16 teams in the South African Premier Soccer League. The competition was established in 1982 and was first known as the Datsun Challenge. Under the new NSL regime in 1984, it became known as the ''JPS Knockout Cup''. It used this name until 1992 when it became known as the ''Coca-Cola Cup''. It was sponsored by the drinks manufacturer until 1996, when it was replaced by the '' Rothmans Cup'' which was changed back to the ''Coca-Cola Cup'' in 2001 due to the new rules regarding tobacco sponsorship in sport.
