Burton Chace Park
Burton Chace Park is the largest public park in Marina del Rey, California. It is named after former Mayor of Long Beach, Burton W. Chace. Comprising approximately , the park is located on Mindanao Way near Admiralty Way. The park is surrounded on three sides by water, and a green knoll rises in its center, from which the entire community can be viewed. Public services include picnic grounds, shelters, barbecue grills, restrooms, community rooms, transient and guest docks, showers and facilities for boaters, and a seasonal cafe. Marina del Rey (Spanish for "Marina of the King") is an unincorporated seaside community in Los Angeles County, California, with an eponymous harbor that is a major boating and water recreation destination of the greater Los Angeles area. The port is North America's largest man-made small-craft harbor and is home to approximately 5,000 boats. The area is a popular tourism destination for both land and water activities such as paddle board and kayak rentals, dining cruises, and yacht charters. Land activities include bicycling on several bicycle paths, walking paths along the waterfront, and birdwatching (birding). The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation is an agency of the County of Los Angeles which oversees its parks and recreational facilities. It was created in 1944. It operates and maintains over of parks, gardens, lakes, natural gardens, and golfing greens, and of trails. It maintains 183 parks and operates the world’s largest municipal golf course system with 20 courses. It also owns the Hollywood Bowl and the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre. Weddings can be held at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in Arcadia, Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge, South Coast Botanic Garden on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, and Magic Johnson Park in Willowbrook. This is a list of mayors of Long Beach, California. The current mayor is Rex Richardson who has been in office since December 20, 2022. He is the first black person to hold the position. History Prior its creation, the equivalent to the office of mayor was referred to as the President of the Board of Trustees.
