Burren, County Down
Burren () is a small village in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is near Warrenpoint. It is not to be confused with the Burren area in County Clare. Places of interest Burren Heritage Centre is a converted national school at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, telling the story of the area. In the year 1927, Tamnaharry Park became a convent when the (Irish) Dominican Sisters of South Africa purchased the property. The new Convent Chapel of Our Lady of the Assumption was dedicated, and its high altar consecrated, by Bishop Mulhern on 24 May 1939. Dr P. Clery, O.P., Dean of Dublin, preached the dedication sermon. By 1945, the Sisters had acquired a new novitiate in County Kildare and were succeeded in Tamnaharry by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Apparition. The house remained in religious hands until 1969, when the Morton Family of Banbridge bought it. Newry And Mourne District Council
Newry and Mourne District Council ( ga, Comhairle an Iúir agus Mhúrn) was a local council in Northern Ireland. It merged with Down District Council in May 2015 under local government reorganisation in Northern Ireland to become Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. It included much of the south of County Armagh and the south of County Down and had a population of over 99,000. Council headquarters were in Newry, the largest settlement and only city in the area; it has a population of 28,850. Other towns in the council area included Crossmaglen and Bessbrook in County Armagh and Warrenpoint, Rostrevor, Hilltown, Annalong and Kilkeel (an important fishing port) in Down. All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship
The All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football tournament which began in season 1970–71. It is the top-tier competition for the senior football clubs of Ireland and London. The current champions are Kilcoo of Down who defeated Kilmacud Crokes of Dublin on 12 February 2022 to win their first title. The current trophy is the Andy Merrigan Cup, named after a footballer who played for Castletown Liam Mellows and Wexford who died as a result of a farm accident at the height of his playing career. Hugh Connolly (priest)
Hugh Gerard Connolly (b.1961) is an Irish Catholic priest. He is a parish priest in the diocese of Dromore and a former ''Aumônier des Irlandais'' at the Collège des Irlandais in Paris. He previously served as president of St Patrick's College, Maynooth, Ireland. Early life Born in September 1961, Connolly is a native of Burren near Warrenpoint, County Down, and is a priest of the Diocese of Dromore with the ecclesiastical title ''Monsignor''. Ministry Connolly attended the Abbey Grammar in Newry before commencing his studies for the priesthood in Maynooth, gaining a BA Honours (NUI) degree in French before studying a theology degree at Maynooth. He was ordained in Maynooth in May 1987. He completed postgraduate doctoral studies in moral theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, in 1991. Kevin McKernan (born 3 December 1987) is a Gaelic footballer from County Down, Northern Ireland. He plays for the Down senior inter-county football team. Playing career Inter-county McKernan has been a member of the Down team since 2008 but made his debut in 2007. He also plays Midfield or Half Forward. U105 is a Belfast-based radio station, providing a mix of music and speech as well as hourly news bulletins. It is owned by Wireless Group and was launched at 6am on 14 November 2005.
