Burnout (Anarbor Album)
''Burnout'' is the second studio album by alternative rock band Anarbor released by Hopeless Records. It was released on June 4, 2013. It peaked at #40 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. This was the last album to include guitarist Mike Kitlas and drummer Greg Garrity before their departure from the band in 2013. Background The band started work on their sophomore album in 2012, and worked with producer Matt Mahaffey for the first time. When asked about the experience vocalist Slade Echeverria said "We normally sit down and write 11 or 12 songs and that's the album. This time, we wrote forty or fifty songs. We picked some of the best ones that came out of that as well as co-writing with other people." This, according to Echeverria, was the first time the band brought in other writers to help create the album. Prior, the band had written all their songs by themselves. Anarbor
Anarbor is an American rock band from Phoenix, Arizona that was formed in 2003. The band is composed of lead vocalist, bassist and only constant member Slade Echeverria, guitarist Adam Juwig, guitarist Danny Stravers, and drummer William Wilson. Initially known as "Troop 101", the band later changed their name to "Anarbor". In April 2008, the band was signed to Hopeless Records while still attending high school in Arizona. Since then, the band has released four EPs and three studio albums. History The band started playing together in Garrity's garage in the Phoenix community of Ahwatukee in early 2003. They played their first show on July 17, 2003, at Skateland in Chandler, AZ. Shortly after the band's first show, they added bassist Jess Myers. Backing Vocals
A backing vocalist is a singer who provides vocal harmony with the lead vocalist or other backing vocalists. A backing vocalist may also sing alone as a lead-in to the main vocalist's entry or to sing a counter-melody. In music performances, rhythm guitar is a technique and role that performs a combination of two functions: to provide all or part of the rhythmic pulse in conjunction with other instruments from the rhythm section (e.g., drum kit, bass guitar); and to provide all or part of the harmony, i.e. the chords from a song's chord progression, where a chord is a group of notes played together. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Since the mid-1950s, the bass guitar has largely replaced the double bass in popular music. ''AbsolutePunk'' was a website, online community, and alternative music news source founded by Jason Tate (the most recent CEO). Pop punk (or punk pop) is a rock music genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop. Infrared homing is a passive weapon guidance system which uses the infrared (IR) light emission from a target to track and follow it seamlessly. Missiles which use infrared seeking are often referred to as "heat-seekers" since infrared is radiated strongly by hot bodies. Many objects such as people, vehicle engines and aircraft generate and emit heat and so are especially visible in the infrared wavelengths of light compared to objects in the background.
