Simolândia
Simolândia is a municipality in northeast Goiás state, Brazil. Location and Geography Simolândia is situated in the northeast of Goiás, at kilometer 250 of the important BR-020 (Belém-Brasília highway). It forms boundaries with Posse, Alvorada do Norte and Buritinópolis. It belongs to the Vão do Paranã statistical micro-region. The distance to Goiânia is 460 km. Alvorada do Norte is a municipality in northeastern Goiás state, Brazil. It is an important commercial center on the Brasília-Salvador highway. Mambaí
Mambaí is a city in eastern Goiás state, Brazil. It is the easternmost city in that state. History The settlement began in the 19th century when settlers from the state of Bahia came looking for rubber produced by the mangabeira tree. The village that appeared took the name Riachão. After the building of a chapel and the passing of muleteers heading to Bahia the settlement began to grow. Soon the name was changed to Mambaí and it became a district of the municipality of Posse, Goiás, Posse. The origin of the name is unknown. Posse, Goiás
Posse is a municipality in northeastern Goiás state, Brazil. It is located northeast of Brasília, 24 km from the state boundary with Bahia, on interstate highway BR-020 (Brasília-Salvador). History The town of Posse arose with the arrival of Northeastern migrants fleeing the drought in search of fertile lands in the mid-19th century. Among the pioneers there were many descendants of Argentinians and Portuguese and many of the streams and rivers had names remembering those far away lands—Rio Corrente, Rio Prata, and Porto Buenos Aires. The settlement was first called Buenos Aires, located below the joining of the Rio Corrente with the Rio Paranã.
