Lyubov Kozyreva (cross-country Skier)
Lyubov Vladimirovna Kozyreva (russian: Любо́вь Влади́мировна Ко́зырева), Lyubov Baranova from 1960 onwards (27 August 1929 – 22 June 2015), was a Soviet cross-country skier who competed in the 1950s and 1960s with VSS Burevestnik. She was born in the settlement of Bugry, Vsevolozhsky District, Leningrad Oblast and died in Moscow. She won four Winter Olympic medals with a gold in the 10 km (1956) and silvers in the 10 km (1960) and the 3 × 5 km relay (1956, 1960). She also won the 10 km event at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1955, becoming the first Soviet athlete to win at the Holmenkollen. Amateur wrestling is a variant of wrestling practiced in collegiate, school, or other amateur level competitions. There are two international wrestling styles performed in the Olympic Games: freestyle and Greco-Roman. Both styles are under the supervision of the United World Wrestling (UWW; formerly known as FILA, from the French acronym for International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles). Alexander Medved
Aleksandr Vasiliyevich Medved (born 16 September 1937) is a Ukrainian-born Soviet Belarusian retired freestyle wrestler who competed for the Soviet Union and was named "one of the greatest wrestlers in history" by FILA, the sport's governing body. Between 1962 and 1972 he won three Olympic gold medals, seven world and three European titles. He served as the Olympic flag bearer for the Soviet Union in 1972, for Belarus in 2004 and recited the Judge's Oath at the Opening Ceremony of the 1980 Olympics. Biography According to Medved, his grandparents came from Russia; his grandmother was ca. 195 cm, and his grandfather was even taller. Speed skating is a competitive form of ice skating in which the competitors racing, race each other in travelling a certain distance on Ice skate, skates. Types of speed skating are long track speed skating, short track speed skating, and marathon speed skating. Lidiya Pavlovna Skoblikova (russian: Лидия Павловна Скобликова; born 8 March 1939) is a retired Russian speed skater and coach. She represented the USSR Olympic team during the Olympic Winter Games in 1960, 1964 and 1968, and won a total of six gold medals, a record she shares with Dutch speed skater Ireen Wüst. She also won 25 gold medals at the world championships and 15 gold medals at the USSR National Championships in several distances. She was also the first athlete to earn six gold medals in the Winter Olympics and the first to earn four gold medals at a single Olympic Winter Games. She was the most successful athlete at the 1960 and 1964 Winter Olympics, sharing the honour for 1960 Games with her compatriot Yevgeny Grishin. Handball
Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. Anpilogov trained at Burevestnik (sports society), Burevestnik in Tbilisi. In 1976 he won the gold medal with the Soviet team. He played all six matches and scored 13 goals.
