Reginald C. Barker (April 2, 1886 – February 23, 1945) was a pioneer film director. Biography Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Barker's family moved to Scotland when he was an infant and then to the United States. Living in California, Barker wrote, produced, and acted in his first play known as ''Granna Uile'' at the age of sixteen following which he acted and handled stage manager duties with a traveling stock company (acting), stock company. When he was eighteen he was the leading man and played in many stock companies. Then he worked with Robert Hilliard in the production of the play named ''A Fool There Was''. At age nineteen, he went to New York City where he worked as a stage manager for Henry Miller (actor), Henry Miller. Edythe Chapman
Edythe Chapman (October 8, 1863 – October 15, 1948) was an American stage and silent film actress. Career Born in Rochester, New York, Chapman began her stage career as early as 1898 when she appeared in New York City in ''The Charity Ball''. She performed at the Shubert Theater in Brooklyn in a production of ''The Light Eternal'' in 1907. The play was a romantic drama of Imperial Rome which was supported by a cast of approximately 100 people. Chapman played maternal roles in numerous silent motion pictures and became known in the 1920s as ''Hollywood's Mother''. She played ''Ma Jones'' in the film version of '' Lightnin''' (1925), a screen production which featured Will Rogers. Edythe was ''Grandmother Janeway'' in ''Man Crazy'' (1927). Otto F. Hoffman (May 2, 1879 – June 23, 1944) was an American film actor. He appeared in almost 200 films between 1915 and 1944. He was born in New York City and died in Los Angeles, California, from lung cancer. Hoffman's Broadway credits include ''The Strange Woman'' (1913), ''The Spring Maid'' (1910), and ''A Broken Idol'' (1909). He was also active in stock theater productions.
