Bunohan
''Bunohan'' (also under the international title of ''Bunohan: Return to Murder'') is a Malaysian Malay-language action drama film, written and directed by Dain Iskandar Said and released in Malaysia on 8 March 2012. The film features actors Faizal Hussein, Zahiril Adzim and Pekin Ibrahim in leading roles. Bunohan is the second film to be directed by Dain Said. Bunohan had its world premiere at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival where it was praised for its solid, visceral storytelling and arresting photography. Bunohan won NETPAC Award at the 2011 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival. The film was selected as Malaysia's official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film nomination for the 85th Academy Awards in February 2013, but it did not make the final shortlist. This is the second film to be submitted to the Academy Award since ''Puteri Gunung Ledang'' in 2004. Pekin Ibrahim
Mohd Iznan "Pekin" Ibrahim (born 25 October 1981) is a Malaysian actor. He is best known for his roles in the critically acclaimed film '' Bunohan'' (2012), ''Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah'' (2010), ''Apokalips X,'' ''Ophilia'' (both in 2014), ''Munafik'' and '' Mat Moto'' (both in 2016); the last film won him the Malaysia Film Festival award for the Best Actor category, beating other nominees like Shaheizy Sam, Zizan Razak, and Aaron Aziz. Faizal Hussein
Mohd Faizal Hussein (born 31 May 1967) is a Malaysian actor. He made his acting debut in 1972 and is known for his role as Roy in the 1986 teen film ''Gila-Gila Remaja'', directed by his father Hussein Abu Hassan. In 2019, ''Harian Metro'' listed him as one of the top 10 best Malaysian actors of all time. Career Faizal made his first film appearance in the film ''Darah Panglima'' in 1972, at the age of five. This is a list of submissions to the 85th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film every year since the award was created in 1956. The award is presented annually by the Academy to a feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English dialogue. The Foreign Language Film Award Committee oversees the process and reviews all the submitted films. Nine shortlisted contenders will be revealed a week before the announcement of the Oscar nominations. The submitted motion pictures must be first released theatrically in their respective countries between 1 October 2011, and 30 September 2012.
