Bunny Andrews
John Boyette "Bunny" Andrews is a former American football player who was the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns in 1953. He's also the younger brother of Texas legend, and sporting goods company CEO, William "Rooster" Andrews. In 1997, he was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame as a special category inductee for his role as a great ambassador of the game. Carlton Massey (January 17, 1930 – May 22, 1989) was a professional American football defensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cleveland Browns (1954–1956) and Green Bay Packers (1957–1958). He attended Southwestern University and the University of Texas. He was drafted by the Browns in the eighth round (95th overall) of the 1953 NFL draft and participated in the 1955 Pro Bowl The 1955 Pro Bowl was the National Football League's (NFL) fifth annual all-star game which featured the league's outstanding performers from the 1954 season. The Texas Sports Hall of Fame recognizes athletes, coaches, and administrators who have made "lasting fame and honor to Texas sports". It was established in 1951 by the Texas Sports Writers Association. Once it made its first induction (baseball star Tris Speaker) in 1951, Texas became the first U.S. state to have a sports hall of fame. Charles Brewer (American Football)
Charles Brewer is a former American football player. He was the starting quarterback of the Texas Longhorns from 1953–1954. He is the father half of the only father-son combination to be starting quarterbacks at Texas. His son Robert, was the starting quarterback for the Longhorns during the 1981 and 1982 season. Early life A native of Lubbock, Brewer prepped at Lubbock High School where he won All-District, All-State and All-American honors. He quarterbacked the Lubbock Westerners to a 13–0 season and the 4A state championship in 1951. In 1951, he was named the Outstanding High School Football Player in Texas and then played in numerous all-star games including the Oil Bowl, the Greenbelt Bowl and the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game. Bill Forester
George William Forester (August 9, 1932 – April 27, 2007) was a professional American football linebacker in the National Football League. He played 11 seasons for the Green Bay Packers ( 1953– 1963) and was selected to four Pro Bowls. He was selected to the Packers Hall of Fame in 1974. Early years Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Forester graduated from its Woodrow Wilson High School in 1949 at age 16. Rooster Andrews
William Edward "Rooster" Andrews, Jr. (March 1, 1923 - January 21, 2008) was a former University of Texas team manager who gained fame as a drop-kicking player, whom the media called the "All-American Waterboy." He later opened a sporting goods store and in that capacity developed the university's iconic Longhorn logo and changed the uniform color to burnt orange.
