Bundesstraße 300
The Bundesstraße 300 or B 300 is one of the German federal highways crossing southern Bavaria from Memmingen in direction to Regensburg via Krumbach (Swabia), Augsburg und Aichach. In Augsburg the B 300 and the B2 respectively the B17 run short distances on the same roads. In Augsburg, Neusäß, Stadtbergen and near the Bundesautobahn 8 the B 300 has two lanes of traffic in each direction ( dual carriageway). In the valley of the river Paar most parts of the road has in all three lanes of traffic (2+1 road). The part of the B 300 between Dasing and Aichach was part of the planned but not constructed Bundesautobahn 90. It is planned that this section of the B 300 will be constructed like a Bundesautobahn with two lanes of traffic in each direction from the year 2010 on. Engelbrechtsmünster
Engelbrechtsmünster is a village in Bavaria, Germany, now part of the municipality of Geisenfeld. It lies near the Ilm river. History There was a monastery in the village, thought to have been founded by pupils of the Irish missionary Columbanus at the start of the 6th century. Saint Emmeram of Regensburg probably visited the small monastery around 650. The monks would not have lived together, but scattered in cells throughout the parish, which was extensive in the early days. Around 815 a Benedictine monk rebuilt the Ilm Monastery, which was endowed with lands in the region. The monastery was destroyed around 955 AD by the Hungarians. The inhabitants rebuilt the church of Saint Paul im Moos. The only remains of the monastery is the word "münster" in the village name. Friedberg () is a town in the district Aichach-Friedberg, Bavaria, Germany, with some 30,000 inhabitants. It is located next to Augsburg at the river Lech. The town was founded in the 13th century in order to collect a toll from people using the bridge across the Lech.
