Bundesstraße 106 (abbreviated B 106) is a German federal highway in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, begins at the B 105 in Wismar and ends at the B 321 in Schwerin. History The road (Chaussee) between Wismar and Ludwigslust was built between 1830 and 1836. During the German Democratic Republic years the road was known as the Fernverkehrsstraße 106 (long distance route 106) (abbreviation F106) . Due to the Bundesautobahn 14 running directly parallel, the southern part of the road between Schwerin and Ludwigslust was downgraded to a Landesstraße (L72) starting in 2016. In: '' |
Wismar
Wismar (; Low German: ''Wismer''), officially the Hanseatic City of Wismar (''Hansestadt Wismar'') is, with around 43,000 inhabitants, the sixth-largest city of the northeastern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and the fourth-largest city of Mecklenburg after Rostock, Schwerin and Neubrandenburg. The city was the third-largest port city in former East Germany after Rostock and Stralsund. ''Landesstraßen'' (singular: ''Landesstraße'') are roads in Germany and Austria that are, as a rule, the responsibility of the respective German or Austrian federal state. Lübstorf is a municipality in the Nordwestmecklenburg district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is close to the cities of Schwerin, Wismar, Lübeck and Rostock and is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Geography Situated on the western shore of Lake Schwerin ''(Außensee)'', the municipality is only about 10 km from the city centre of Schwerin. Lübeck–Bad Kleinen Railway
The Lübeck–Bad Kleinen railway is a single-track, non-electrified main line between the German states of Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Its construction was started by the Lübeck-Kleinen Railway Company (german: Lübeck-Kleinener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft) and, after that company's bankruptcy, it was completed and opened by the Friedrich-Franz Railway (''Friedrich-Franz-Eisenbahn''). Operation and history In the 1850s, the two grand duchies of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Mecklenburg-Strelitz were planning an east–west route through their territory. This would connect in Lübeck to the Lübeck–Büchen line with Kleinen on the Hagenow–Wismar line and run over the existing Bad Kleinen–Rostock railway to Bützow and continue to Güstrow and Neubrandenburg. Bad Kleinen (until 1915 Kleinen) is a municipality in the Nordwestmecklenburg district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is located on the north bank of the Schweriner See. Dorf Mecklenburg is a municipality in the Nordwestmecklenburg district, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is located 6 km south of Wismar. is an autobahn in eastern Germany. The route comprises two disconnected sections: * The old A 241. A North-South route in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern which runs from Wismar to Schwerin. * The original A 14. A West-East route which starts at the A 2 near Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt and terminates at the A 4 at Dresden in Saxony. On the way, it serves Halle and Leipzig.
