Bundelkhand Yearly Meeting
Bundelkhand Yearly Meeting (''Bundelkhand Masihi Mitr Samaj'') is a yearly meeting of the Religious Society of Friends in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh state in mid-India. It was formed from Friends Churches set up by missionaries from Ohio Yearly Meeting in 1896, and the first independent yearly meeting was held in Chhatarpur in 1956. Theologically it falls within the evangelical tradition, unlike nearby Mid-India Yearly Meeting. The main Friends' Church is at Chhatarpur, where the church is adjacent to Chhatarpur Christian Hospital, which was set up by Friends from the Friends' Foreign Mission Society in 1930, and run by Friends although is now administered as part of Emmanuel Hospital Association. There is also an English-medium and Hindi-medium Christian school run by the Friends' Church. There are also Friends' Churches at Nowgong, Bijawar and Gwhara. Mid-India Yearly Meeting
Mid-India Yearly Meeting is a yearly meeting of the Religious Society of Friends in Madhya Pradesh state in mid-India. Quakerism came to mid-India as a result of missionaries from London Yearly Meeting who were members of the Friends Foreign Mission Association. Missions were established in Mid-India in 1866 by the Friends Foreign Mission Association. Mid-India Yearly Meeting was founded as an independent yearly meeting in 1907 in Hoshangabad. There are six monthly meetings in Mid-India Yearly Meeting: Hoshangabad Friends Meeting, Itarsi Friends Meeting, Kheda Friends Meeting (also in Itarsi), Sohagpur Friends Meeting, Seoni Malwa Friends Meeting and Makoriya Friends Meeting. Bijawar
Bijawar is a city the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. It is the administrative headquarters of Bijawar Taluk, and was formerly the capital of a princely state of British India of the same name. The people of Bijawar are demanding the district status from their state government. Nowgong, Chhatarpur
Nowgong is a city of Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The town had a population of 11,507 in 1952. Vindhya Pradesh was merged into Madhya Pradesh on 1 November 1956. Nowgaon was declared capital of Madhya Pradesh, but after six months Bhopal became the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Nowgong is well connected by roads and is on National Highway 39 about 110 km away from Jhansi. The nearest railway station is Chhatarpur, 28–30 km km away and the nearest airport is Khajuraho, 68 km away. The town has an old British-era church. Friends World Committee For Consultation
The Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC) is a Quaker organisation that works to communicate between all parts of Quakerism. FWCC's world headquarters is in London. It has General Consultative NGO status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations since 2002. FWCC shares responsibility for the Quaker UN Office in Geneva and New York City with the American Friends Service Committee and Britain Yearly Meeting. Yearly Meeting
Yearly Meeting is a term used by members of the Religious Society of Friends, or Quakers, to refer to an organization composed of constituent meetings or churches within a geographical area. The constituent meetings are called Monthly Meetings in most of the world; in England, local congregations are now called Area Meetings, in Australia Monthly Meetings are called Regional Meetings. "Monthly" and "Yearly" refer to how often the body meets to make decisions. Monthly Meetings may be local congregations that hold regular Meetings for Worship, or may comprise a number of Worship Groups (and equivalent congregations with other designations).
