The Buncombe County Democratic Party (BCDP) is the Buncombe County affiliate of the NC Democratic Party in the United States. It is headquartered in Asheville. Blue
Blue is one of the three primary colours in the RYB colour model (traditional colour theory), as well as in the RGB (additive) colour model. It lies between violet and cyan on the spectrum of visible light. The eye perceives blue when observing light with a dominant wavelength between approximately 450 and 495 nanometres. Lillian Exum Clement
Lillian Exum Clement (1894–1925), later known as Lillian Stafford, was an American politician who was the first woman elected to the North Carolina General Assembly and the first woman to serve in any state legislature in the Southern United States. Personal life Lillian Exum Clement, known as "Exum" or "Ex" was the sixth of seven children born to George Washington Clement and Sara Elizabeth Burnett. Clement attended high school in Asheville, North Carolina and then Asheville Business College, after being encouraged to do so by prominent Asheville-area philanthropist Edith Vanderbilt. Clement's father was employed as a foreman by Edith's husband, George Vanderbilt. Clement took a job as an office deputy in the Buncombe County sheriff's department at the age of 14 and studied law with James Jefferson Britt and Robert G. Goldstein in her spare time. Julie Virginia Mayfield (born April 5, 1967) is an American attorney and politician serving as a Democratic member of the North Carolina Senate from the 49th district. Early life and education Mayfield was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Northside High School, then Davidson College with a Bachelor of Arts in religion, and earned her Juris Doctor from the Emory University School of Law. Caleb Rudow is an American politician serving as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives from the 116th district. He was appointed on February 1, 2022, succeeding Susan Fisher. Beth Wood
Beth A. Wood (born April 22, 1954) is an American politician and accountant serving as the Auditor of North Carolina since 2009. A Democrat, she is the first woman to hold the office. Born in New Bern, she initially worked as a dental hygienist before getting a degree in accounting in 1984. In the mid-1990s Wood took a job in the Office of the North Carolina State Treasurer, where she was responsible for approving audits of local governments. She later took a job in the office of the Auditor of North Carolina, and was promoted to head of the training division. Joshua Stein (born September 13, 1966) is an American lawyer and politician who serves as the 50th and current Attorney General of North Carolina, a position he has held since 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Stein previously served as a member of the North Carolina Senate representing District 16, located Wake County. While a member of the North Carolina Senate, Stein announced in 2013 that he would run for re-election in 2014 and then for North Carolina Attorney General in 2016.
